Orion's POV

The meeting with alpha Dane and the other two alphas' went well. We decided to make alliances between our packs due to the current rogue situation going on in the East of California.

It had been rumored to be coming towards mine and Dane's territory. Over the past two years they have invaded and destroyed two small packs and are now attacking larger packs.

Although they are not too much of a problem for me and my pack I have started doing more frequent runs around my borders just in case, plus I've keeping tabs on their movements.

"Thank you Nathan, I'll let you know what I hear about their whereabouts." Alpha Dane tells me as we shake hands and say our goodbyes.

Our parents were good friends, Dane and I would hang out when we were little so we have always been on good terms with each other. I just haven't really been keeping up-to-date with my alliances. I should really change that, I thought to myself as we were leaving. I

generally don't keep up-to-date or make alliances due to the fact that I was alpha of the largest and most powerful pack but it wouldn't hurt to have back up right.

We all jumped back into our vehicles and began to make our way home after an exhausting six hours of travelling here and two hours in a long meeting. About two and a half hours into our journey we all started getting hungry, so we decided we would stop at a small human town and grab something to eat before carrying on home. Connor soon found a small diner and we put our cars to park and headed in.

As soon as I stepped into the diner I was captivated by the familiar scent of my mate.

"Mate, mate is here!! Go find mate!" Atlas growled at me. That's the first time his spoken to me in four years.

When I rejected Phoebe Atlas nearly vanished in my mind, I thought he was going to reject me for what I did but he didn't.

"I know Atlas. I can smell her as well." I said to him.

He started pacing around in my mind anxious but thrilled about seeing his mate again after four years. I immediately began surveying the room feeling nervous but excited about seeing her again.

"Nate." Xander said as he placed a hand on my shoulder.

The look on his and the others faces stopped me from snapping at him from stopping me from finding my mate.

"Do you feel that?" he asked me with a hint of worry in his voice.

"What are you talking about-" that's when I felt it a powerful force suddenly hit me, I was too distracted on my mates scent to pick it up. There's a powerful Alpha in here with us, a very powerful alpha was in this diner. Unfortunately my mate has to wait, it hurt but I had to make sure that we also left this diner alive.

"There's an extremely powerful alpha present." Connor whispered under his breath but we all heard him.

"No offence Nate." He added thinking I would be hurt by his statement, well maybe a little alpha's hate being called out as weak.

"Its okay" I reassured him.

"Survey the area" I told them through our mind link

. We started walking around the diner careful so that we don't come on as a threat to the alpha present.

"So far there's only human, I don't understand. Where is he?" I heard Xander say through the link.

Suddenly the force disappeared, like it was never there.
