Just as I stepped out of the office and walked down the long hallway, Indigo started to stir slightly...
"What's up Indigo?" I asked her.
"Something's coming, something big, but it's a good something though, I can feel it." She said.
"Indigo what are you talking about?" I asked her again.
"Geez Phoebe I just said it was something good, relax." She retorted with a slight laugh.
"Okay, fine." I said while rolling my eyes.
"So were we going this time?" She questioned me.
"Crescent Moon pack" I told her.
"You're kidding me right; does your dochebag father really want you gone that badly even though you're his number one warrior and daughter?" she said.
"I'm not complaining this is actually great." I told her.
"How so young one?" she asked me
"We get to finally escape and we can have an actual alibi, we won't even have to break a sweat about it. Since we're going to the Crescent Moon pack, he'll think they killed us if we don't return in time and we'll just use that to our advantage, but that's if they really don't kill us. No worries though I think we could handle a couple of guards..." I said to her.
"For someone so young you're very smart you know that." And with that she disappeared into the back of my mind to do whatever she does when we're not talking.
I couldn't help but laugh at her comment. Indigo is my wolf, a very beautiful one if I can brag. She's also a very ancient wolf, she's over one thousand years old, she's been around for some time and she's also extremely powerful if anything, even more than my father and she and I are the most powerful werewolf of this era. Well that's what she told me.
Indigo and I first met when I was fifteen year old, the day I first transformed into my wolf form. It was an extremely painful, gruesome and yet beautiful day. I was in a peaceful forest clearing when it happened.
My father had sent into rogue territory or otherwise known as 'No Man's Land' to survive on my own for three months. I was lying in the middle of the clearing after running from a couple of rogues that wanted some revenge because I stole their food parcels but hey a girl needed to survive somehow.
I was lying in the grass utterly exhausted from running the whole day when a sudden pain came up in my leg like someone was adding pressure and breaking my bones more than once. The pain spread through my entire body, it hurt like hell, the pain was blinding, I screamed so hard my throat went hoarse; I was rolling around the forest floor mouth open gasping for breath that wouldn't come. Then it all stopped, I tried standing up but fell back on to the forest floor to exhaust to move anymore. And that's when I heard it, when I heard her...
"Sleep child." The voice whispered to me.
"Who, what-"but I was cut off by the voice again.
"Shh child relax, get some rest you need It." the voice told me and I obediently obliged to tired to even argue back anymore.
And ever since that day it's been Indigo and I.
I never told anyone that I shifted so early, not even father. Indigo told me not to tell anyone about us because they would use the power we had to their advantage and things would not be good for anyone who would be receiving the other end of it.
Since that day Indigo masked our scent so we gave of no aura which indicated that I had shifted but that I had wolf abilities, I have my werewolf strength, speed and metabolism yes, but people in the pack still don't know or even have a clue that I can shift into my actual wolf.
Father was thoroughly disappointed and had me trained harder than any other wolf in the pack jut so he can exhaust me, but turns out I've outdone myself and maybe hurt his ego a bit by doing that and even though I topped his expectations he never should that he was proud or even slightly impressed.
And to top it all off he beat me every chance he got and it was unbearable because I couldn't heal it with my wolf, we just had to endure very thing we were given from the whips to the chains to the canes everything... I did learn to harness that pain and grew more repellent to it so that it made me stronger but it still hurt, but today, today it's all going change.
Today I'm going to leave and never turn back. I'm going to start a new life and have a new beginning ahead. Today I'm leaving for good.
