Later that day (time – noon)

The sun was unmercifully beating down on me, even with the coverage of the forest around me it was still blistering hot but I sucked it up and continued running with my backpack bouncing uncontrollably behind me.

Earlier today I had packed the essentials for my 'great escape', my phone which had a ghost chip just in case, the forged documents my father provided me with for my rogue cover and my real documents which were hidden in the lining of my backpack, a change of clothes, a couple of weapons but those were hidden on me and my trusty journal, map and favorite novel.

Today was going to be my new start, my new life, a time for me to start fresh and I couldn't be happier.

"Phoebe, are you not forgetting one last thing?" Indigo asked me suddenly.

"No Indi, I think I've got it all why? What did I leave behind; I mean there isn't much we could have taken without being suspected." I replied.

"Really, don't act so naïve with me Phoebe." She said. "I'm not Indi, I know we haven't forgotten anything; I'd remember if we had." I told her.

"Oh, so you mean to tell me you've forgotten that today or any other day after today we could possibly meet our mate, hmmm?" I stopped abruptly at the word mate, nearly tripping over a tree root as I did.

How could I forget about that? Today was my eighteenth birthday I'll finally be meeting my mate. Wait, what NO! I can't be meeting my mate, his going to try and hold me back from the freedom I've been craving for oh so long, for so many years.

What if my mate is in one of the top five, father would find out that I'd faked my death and ran away. No, I can't meet my mate. Oh my goddess why, I let out a frustrated groan. This just can't be happening right now; maybe I could just reje-

"Don't you dare finish that sentence Phoebe White, I'm warning you" Indigo growled at me a little angry at me for even considering rejecting my mate.

"Okay, I'm sorry Indigo but you can't blame me, what if his just another asshole, what if his not a good person in general, what if-"Indigo stopped my ranting with a painful whine.

"Our mate will not be like that Phoebe, he will love us, and he will cherish us. The goddess would not give us a bad mate, not after what has happened to us, trust me." Indigo said.

"Maybe you're right Indi; I pray your right." I said back to her.

And with that said I continue running through the forest until I got to the Crescent Moon pack border.

Why am I still heading there, well my plan is still a working progress. I know that father keeps tabs on all packs down to the tiny bits of information he can get such as when a rogue is found in their lands and since there are barely any rogues that are dumb enough to cross the Crescent Moon pack, I not showing up would raise suspicion and he would know something is happening.

I slowed my pace down to a casual walk so that I could get my disguise ready. My cover was of a young girl whose pack had just recently been destroyed by the Blood Moon pack, my pack.

Fortunately for me we had just recently invade and destroyed the pack and by 'we' I mean my father and his men just destroyed the pack so my cover will be more believable since it meant that I didn't really choose to become rogue.

I stopped and stood completely still, focusing my power. I mean, I wouldn't be the most powerful wolf out there without some kind of kinky powers and one of those kinky powers happened to be changing my hair color form it's beautiful sliver-white color to a beautiful raven black.

This also happenings with my wolf's fur, but for my wolf when her fur turns black it means she's out for blood and won't stop until she gets it or until I force her to calm down, this usually drains me of all my energy and I eventually end up unconscious in my own mind while she controls my body.

I opened my eyes after focusing for a minute or two on changing my hair before masking my scent to that of a fresh rogue then I rolled around in the dirt.
