Atreus sat next to Freydis at the Zeus table, laughing as they talked with their friends. The gods were at camp most of the time, training their children. Atreus had reforged his father's Axe into a one-handed bearded axe, he spent all of his time training or being with Freydis. He hadn't gotten used to his new invulnerability but was adjusting. Everyone had been calling him Ironaxe since he got back, Freydis found it amusing at how annoyed it made Atreus. The Hunters had arrived and Zoe was helping Freydis with her archery. The nickname Atreus gave her, Little Valkyrie, had stuck and he had been calling her that. They started to train the campers in Norse war tactics and were enjoying the time they had before the battle.
Atreus had not spoken to his 'friends' at school for awhile but continued to take classes. He had gotten better with Charles' help and Freydis being there with him. While sitting in history, Atreus and Freydis just talked to each other in Old Norse, when their teacher said "Atreus, Freydis. Why are you talking during the lesson? Are you an expert in this topic?" Atreus turned his gaze onto the board and practically laughed when he saw they were studying the Vikings. He nodded his head as Freydis struggled to suppress a laugh. Atreus stood up, causing the teacher to "Ok, smart guy. Who supposedly discovered North America before Columbus?" "Leif Erikson." "Who tried to become king of England in the 11th century?" "Harald Hardrada." "Who led the Great Heathen Army from 865 to 870?" "Ivar the Boneless." "Ha. Wrong, it was Guthrum." "No, it was Ivar the Boneless. He was the son of Ragnar Lothbrok, and when Ragnar was killed by King Aelle of Northumbria, Ivar and his brothers waged war on England for revenge. After Ivar's death in 870, his brother, Ubbe, led the army as Halfdan continued to rule in the north. Ubbe continued Ivar's conquest and conquered most of England except for Wessex, Guthrum assisted him in overcoming the forces of King Alfred the Great." Everyone in the room was wide eyed and slack jawed, except Freydis, who burst out laughing. The teacher's look of shock was replaced by one of disbelief, she said "Someone look it up." Everyone pulled out their phones and quickly typed the question in google. "He's right. Ivar the Boneless led the army," someone spoke up after finding the answer. Her face dropped in shame as everyone laughed.
Freydis had been talking to Kratos about Atreus. "He's getting better. It's been a few weeks since Jake died and Atreus is finally spending time with others." "Hmm, he will still crave vengeance. It's in his nature. I remember when my first son and I went on our quest, he did not know of my heritage and godhood, he did not know of the anger and power he possessed. I made the mistake of not telling him and hoping he could learn. I will not let that happen to Atreus." Freydis sighed and looked over at Atreus training some campers, when she looked back, Kratos was gone. Walking over, her eyes widened when she saw a draugr run at Atreus' back with a dagger raised. When the blade was lowered at his shoulder, it shattered on impact. The draugr stepped back but Atreus was faster and quickly cut off it's leg. Watching it try to limp away as more draugrs, Freydis ran over to him. He stepped towards them and yelled in Old Norse, "Don't you know who I am? You can't kill me! Don't you know who I am? I am Atreus Ironaxe! I am Atreus Ironaxe!" The undead monsters cowered at his battle cries. Atreus summoned Hermaður into his right hand and his bearded Leviathan Axe into his left. The campers gathered around, shocked at Atreus. He ran forward and buried his axe into the injured draugr's head, taking it out, he threw it at the closet monster before summoning it back. The surrounding draugr ran at him. Atreus ducked and sliced one's legs, quickly turning and decapitated another. Throwing his axe, it struck and froze one in place. Running past it as electricity surged off his sword, he jumped in the air and landed on one knee with his sword stabbed into the ground. Lightning burst from the sword on impact, destroying all the monsters in front of him (imagine Black Panther's suit but it came from the sword and it's lightning). The entirety of Atreus' eyes was a power lightning blue and the same type of lightning cascaded off and surrounded his body. He raised his hand behind him and the Leviathan Axe flew to his hand, the monster it froze shattered immediately. His eyes returned to their usual multicolor as the electricity on him disappeared. Freydis walked up to him and stood to his right. She suddenly said "You've been taking advice from Ivar again, haven't you?" Atreus laughed as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. Everyone started cheering for Atreus and what he did. He looked down in embarrassment and yelled "GET BACK TO WORK!" in a very loud, deep, monstrous voice. They all jumped in fright and hurried away. Freydis frowned in annoyance and scolded him "what did we say about using your Jotnar voice?" He started laughing again but stopped when she hit him in the back of the head. She clutched her hand in pain and Atreus started panicking but she healed it with her Vanir magic. She glared at him and he quickly spoke "Wanna spar, Little Valkyrie?" "Sure, but this time I will win."
