I thought heroes
were supposed to be
invincible
but then I saw
the battle wounds
traced across your skin
and I realized..
you might not be invincible
but you are the strongest hero
I could ever ask for
because
demons fight a war inside you,
never giving you a rest,
and yet you still build up
the strength to ask everyone else,
'How are you?'_______________________
Jeon Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook, this. Jeon Jungkook that. The demons never gave his name a rest, never at all.
"Did you know the Prince can kill seven men at once?"
"I bet he has a sword with his name, that he uses to execute demons."
"I can only wish to be one of maids working for him."
"I bet he eats snakes for dinner."
Oh hold up. None of these were true, none at all. Not even the sword. Yet the public couldn't stop making rumors. He wasn't arrogant, he didn't act cocky, he hated executing people.
He hated how his maids cleared up for him, the sight of them apologizing and tripping over their high heels made him gag. Because he knew they deserved much better than to just polish his shoes. He hated the gazes he got when he goes for his morning stroll. He hated people sneaking up on him just to harass him, kissing the Prince won't make a difference, it'll just get you killed. And most importantly, he hated his parents. But yet, he couldn't dare to even breath a word of those truths.
He was soft, but he couldn't show it. No one knew how he brought the prisoners food in secret, they only knew he executed them. No one knew, how he orders the workers to give goods to the poor, they only knew he takes them away for his own good. No one knew, how rotten his family was, they only worshiped them.
You can prove that the demon kingdom was messed up. Unlike their counterparts. But that was going to change soon enough.
One thing Jungkook couldn't change no matter what he wanted is the fact that he was the Seventh Heir of the Demon Kingdom.

"Your majesty, the king and queen are requesting your presence at the breakfast table."
"Thank you Mi-cha. I'll be there right away," Jungkook bowed politely.
"No! What are you doing? Your parents would kill me if they saw you bowing to a maid," She exclaimed.
"A little bit of respect doesn't hurt. And you are older than me, I am supposed to respect you," He smiled.
Mi-cha only wished the public saw this side Jungkook. Not that it'll ever happen due to influence of guards and the previous kings and queens. The Jeon dynasty was described as ruthless and strict, almost a thousand people being executed each year. The demon kingdom was much, much bigger than the angel kingdom with various types of landforms and creatures, probably why it was so hard to take control.
Mi-cha has been working as Jungkook's personal maid every since he was born. Now it was his sixteenth birthday. How fast time flies.
Jungkook soon walked out, fully dressed in his personal suit and robe. A ruby crown decorated his head as his horns stuck out.
