Don't think of this introduction as late. Why? Because it isn't an introduction in the first place. At this point he doesn't need one, but that doesn't mean he was always true to himself while talking with others.
Jung Hoseok was.. enigmatic. He's the type of person you won't truly understand until the very end. No one really does. Not even Yoongi did. Which is probably why his introduction was posted near the very end of their journey. People needed time to understand a person like Jung Hoseok.
That's why he wasn't close with many people as others assumed. Most weren't willing to give that time.
His bright and serious persona seemed to fool people just fine, and Hoseok secretly liked that. The way he could fool people with a bright smile to hide the deepest of feelings. He felt powerful.
If he was in a show, he would've been the perfect twist villain.
But to go back to his story, Hoseok was a perfect king even though he was barely Jungkook's age by the time he took over, making him the youngest king the Angel Kingdom had ever seen to date. He was forced to carry a burden because his father was an astounding king, even though he was only a commoner. And everyone else expected him to withhold that same reputation, if not surpass it.
But Hoseok the wizard was up to the task as soon he was handed the throne, he was a bit nervous, of course. Everyone would be if they had control over an entire Kingdom. But he hid it well. His nervousness.
Like we mentioned before, the young boy had a talent of hiding his secrets behind a smile.
As a king Hoseok was nurturing, he was empathetic, he was hardworking, and he knew when to punish people for what they did. He never went out of line. He knew when and how to take over and demand control, and absolutely hated it when that control was gone.
Hoseok rarely used that skill though because he was a rather easygoing person. Even though it subtly leaked through at times that he liked being in control.
As the oldest child of the royal family, Hoseok had a different path compared to Taehyung. That meant attending his fathers meetings has a child, learning the names of the workers and important people he didn't even know about, and basically being his father's henchperson, sometimes his father leave his work to the young boy and asked him questions about the kingdom. What would he do? And how would he do it?
Taehyung was stuck with just being free to do what he wanted while his brother did training. But unlike many younger siblings, he was never jealous of Hoseok. Instead he always provided support.
Their mother was a pure royal angel, while their father was a common wizard from another kingdom. Hoseok however, was always more similar to his father, and Taehyung, to his mother.
That's why Hoseok almost didn't get the crown since the townspeople considered Taehyung as more 'royal' and 'true' to rule a kingdom of angels than he was. But oh did he prove them wrong.
He proved them so wrong.
The wizard never strayed apart from his duties, and never meant never. Behind the scenes it was obviously different, but in front of his people, Hoseok always appeared perfect. Just perfect. It was a blessing and a burden.
But no was is truly perfect. Not even Hoseok. He had created many bad habits for himself, some of them that he still needed to overcome.
A habit he always struggled with was overworking himself. Sometimes Yoongi would see Hoseok staying up the whole night for weeks just to revise documents about the Angel Kingdom. That's when the Guardian Angel would force him to go to sleep against his will, and then snatch every last paper off his side table.
