Lucy took her usual route to the guild, forever testing her balance on the small ledge by the river. Looking down at the crystal water, she thanked God that she had good balance, otherwise she would of have to had so many baths after falling in by now. Lucy checked the time, knowing that any second now the traditional call would come and -

"Be careful not to fall in, Miss!"

There it was! A lovely, usual routine that warmed her heart, and now all she had to do was go and see what job Natsu had picked for them today.

Giggling, she walked into Fairy Tail, the home that loved her fiercely and she loved just as fiercely back. Sitting down at the bar, she waved Mira over.

"Morning, Mira, how are you? And can I please have a strawberry milkshake with extra cream?"

Mira ignored her. She tried again. No response. Dismissing it as she was probably just busy, she looked around for Levy or Wendy but couldn't see them. Oh well, they would probably just get in later. Suddenly, a flash of salmon hair caught her attention and she rushed over to find Natsu, her best friend squabbling with Happy over some fish.

"Why does it never occur to you two no matter how much I tell you that you always forget that you could just cut it in half?" She said, giggling.

"Luce!" Natsu exclaimed, cheerfully. "You know that that never works, Happy always takes the larger part..." His voice dropped at that part, as he began to grumble.

"Aye!" Piped up Happy.

Lucy turned as she felt a presence behind her, namely Erza who had begun to glare at Natsu. Wondering what Natsu had done this time, she turned to see realisation flash in his eyes, before a scowl marred his face.

Slap.

Lucy heard the connection, but didn't register that she was the one who had been slapped until her face began to sting. Raising her hand to the rapidly bruising cheek, she looked up in shock at Natsu who had caused her this pain.

"Natsu... What the hell? Have you suddenly become bipolar? If you didn't like my suggestion about the fish you could of just said so!"

"Leave, Heartfillia, nobody wants you here, you're more trouble than your worth."

Tears began to spring up in her eyes from the sudden change in her family, as if Erza's appearance had suddenly made them all hate her as taunts from every corner of the guild emerged.

Slap, slap, slap, hit, kick, punch.

Tears.

Lucy ran from the guild, her resolve crumbling as her belief in her guild vanished with bruises on her body and mental scarring eternal reminders.

If only she had looked back to see hundreds of regret-filled eyes.

On the train, I sat with Loke who threw me sympathetic glances every now and then. My eyes were blank, not seeing the world as they were disbelieving of witnessing my family's betrayal, in denial as my heart was yet my mind rational in knowing what had transpired. Knowing that I couldn't cope with staying in Magnolia, not with the new memories to replace the old happy ones, I booked a train to take me someplace where I could grow stronger.

I held no contempt for my guild, only sadness and hurt, but if growing stronger was what was required of me to show that I was no burden, I would do it.

Because I loved my guild far too much to believe that they could ever abandon me thoughtlessly.

I settled myself down for sleep, the darkness welcome to embrace my tired mind.

"Dracen! Please do not leave me! I swear I can be a better queen!"

"Worry not, my lady, for I live only to serve you."

The girl watched painfully, as each footstep he took broke her heart a little bit more.

Screaming in pain, from seeing her closest friend walk away, she sobbed as she ran towards her tranquil place. As she sat near the gushing waterfalls, her senses of that which exceeded any God or man, failed to pick up the sound of soft footsteps approaching in her misery.

Suddenly, all she saw was a green light, before darkness comforted her into a gentle sleep.

Dracen was a proud man, and he was right to be; a man of a high ranking noble family, captain of the guard of Esrealia. To add to that, he had successfully won the heart of his princess, making him smirk at the thought. She was an easy catch, a girl whom was so in love with the idea of true love, could not tell it apart from real love.

Ruffling his hair, he wrapped his arm around a girl with a scowling face and fiery red hair.

"Just wait a little longer my impatient kin, for she will reveal herself to us very soon."
