Isolation

Chapter 3

Groaning, I opened my eyes. My body ached as I sat up, and I heard an uncomfortable pop from my bones as I stretched. Looking around, I saw my other three companions waking up. Suddenly I gasped.

It was beautiful.

Glowing gems were littered carelessly on the floor around us, and a large pile resided to the left of me. Magnificent colours were evident all around and the rocky walls of the apparent cave we had fallen into seemed to shimmer. Nearby, I heard a gushing sound and turned my head to see a quaint stream embedded into the rocks floor.

Realising how thirsty I was, I rushed to the stream, ignoring my bodies protest at the sudden movement. Quickly, my friends saw what I was doing and quickly copied my actions.

A few minutes later, I turned to speak to Lisanna, but instead was baffled.

"Who are you?"

Both our voices chorused at the same time.

The girl in front of me was breathtakingly beautiful, with straight white hair that reached her waist, and inquisitive emerald eyes. Her pale skin had casting shadows upon it from the dim light, and she wore a gown of emerald velvet, with a golden lace corset.

"Me? You're not Lucy!"

Her voice was like that of bells chiming.

Then, I registered what she said. Hesitantly, I looked into the stream to look at my reflection, which caused me to shriek, as I fell back.

The girl is front of me looked like a goddess, with rainbow eyes, framed with long dark lashes, and wavy, platinum blonde hair, which fell to her waist. Her skin was ivory, and her lips a vibrant pale pink. Her outfit consisted of a pure white gown, embroidered with golden thread.

Blinking, I then registered that this girl was me.

I then looked up at the girl next to me, and decided to take a leap of faith.

"Lisanna?"

"How do you know who I am?"

Oh no, this was Lisanna.

"Look into the water."

As she did, she too had my first initial reaction, which was to shriek.

"Lucy.... Is that you?"

"Yes, but don't ask me why we look like this, because I have no clue. "

"I wasn't going to ask that."

"Really? Then what were you going to ask me?"

"I was going to ask.... Where are Wendy and Levy?"

Then we heard a loud, high-pitched squeal. Turning around we saw two beautiful teenagers, one whom seemed to be in despair, and another who was seemingly admiring their.... Boobs.

Like me and Lisanna, they were both gorgeous. One had long dark blue hair and golden eyes, with long lashes, which flaunted shadow. She too was pale. Contrasting with her, the other had light curly blue hair, with silver eyes, and slightly tan skin.

They turned towards us, slightly dazed as they took in our appearances.

The one with the light blue hair introduced them. "I'm Levy and this is Wendy. We seem to have accidentally separated from our friends, will you please help us find them?"

"Levy, it's us, Lucy and Lisanna, it just seems our appearances have mysteriously changed."

Shocked, Wendy spoke, " But how? I mean I'm happy with how I look, but why am I suddenly a teenager?"

"No clue, but let's just keep moving, I don't trust this place."

After around two hours, we came to a halt. For there in front of us was a dragon.

The dragon had shiny turquoise scales, which reflected the light beautifully. It was a humongous creature, beautiful but deadly.

"How is this possible, the dragons all dissapeared!" Came Levy's frantic whisper.

Suddenly, a loud roar was apparent. The dragon had awoken, to reveal beautiful silver orbs, with flecks of green and blue, much like Levy's new eyes.

"Who dares enter into my chamber?"

Her voice was regal, resounding throughout the cave.

"I'm sorry, but we didn't know that you resided here."

Hearing her voice, the dragon turned her head to stare at her, eyes registering shock as she took in her appearance.

"Aquaria! It is you! I thought... When you were taken as a baby, I thought you would never return, yet here you are, having returned to your mother."

Confused, Levy questioned her, "Aquaria? I'm afraid you've mistaken me for someone else. I only look like this because something in the water I drank changed my appearance."

"The River of Return? So it is as I feared, your kidnapper did use magic to change your appearance. You also seem not to know your heritage. For you see that stream, if you drink from it, expels all magic that may have been cast upon one. "

The dragon suddenly rose, unfurling her wings, startling us all.

"You are the proud daughter of me, Duchess Aqua of the kingdom of Dragons, leader of the guardians of our Lost Princess. You control all forms of liquid, which means you can control these so-called humans, with the blood in their bodies. You are not a dragon-slayer, who's magic is weak in comparison to us, but a dragon, and water is your element."

Speechless, Levy turned to us, and opened her palm.

There inside of it lay an orb of pure water.
