Wendy POV

I was taunting Bickslow with my scythe before I heard an anguished cry resounding loudly from the cathedral where Lucy was.

Lucy!

Quickly muttering a quick sleeping spell, I left Bickslow asleep, contentedly muttering about his babies. Running towards the cathedral, I burst open the doors to be greeted by the sight of a smug Laxus, and Lucy being held up by the
throat encased in electric bonds.

"Who the hell are you?"

"My name is Wendy! And you leave my big sister alone!"

"Wendy... Wendy... Wendy! Aren't you that little air weakling? So this is what you four got up to in your time away."

Angered, I took a step forward.

"I'll show you what my time away did for me!" I yelled, re-equipping my scythe.

"Holy Slash!"

A wave of white energy rushed out towards him, but he quickly dodged it, skidding back a few feet. In retaliation, he sprung forward, punching me in the gut, taking me by surprise.

"Lightning Dragons Wing!"

I dodged it, and materialiased in front on Laxus, and quickly raised my scythe, shouting another attack.

"Holy Wish!"

Millions of white fairies surrounded me, aiding me in creating a large ball of light that was impossible to dodge.

"Roar of the Lightning Dragon!"

"Holy Wings!"

White wings sprung onto my back as I flew up high to dodge.

"Holy sphere!"

The White sphere hit, knocking him out cold, and I quickly rushed straight

towards Lucy.

"Lucy... Lucy! Please don't be dead!" I cried.

"Don't be d-dead? What a rubbish line, y-you could have at least confessed your undying love for me."

I whacked Lucy's arm lightly as tears streamed down my face, but I swiftly aided her as she attempted to sit up, but she ended up coughing blood instead.

She gave me a wry smile as I undid her bindings in return.

Same old Lucy.

Dracen weighed the small bag of treasure in his hand, a mere part in thousands that the old king had given him.

Fools.

Everyone in this blasted world was so gullible, falling for his every word as soon as he offered them comfort or power. The unfortunate truth that these people did not wish to face was that their world revolved around trickery and deceit.

His hadn't.

However, no matter what he did, no matter how low he could fall, it was all for her.

His flaming goddess.

As the man who was acting as look-out shouted that they were nearing theor destination of Bosnaria, he snapped out of his trance and proceeded to slide something that glinted in the light out of his pocket.

A figure in a billowing white dress was still watching.

Lucy POV

I groaned as I sat up, panic setting into my gaze as I took in my unfamiliar surroundings, but quickly recognizing it as the Fairy Tail infirmary, with its unchanged white walls and beds with turquoise curtains. I looked down to note how my wound had already dissapeared, most likely to Wendy and her healing magic.

Aiming to get up, I was stopped by a tight grip around my hand, and my gaze dropped to a muscular arm which eventually led up to a black and white checkered scarf and pink hair.

My mistake, salmon.

Happy would be proud.

Smiling softly, I looked down at Natsu, remembering all the times he had attempted to save me, comforting me and always loving me as his best friend.

Former best friend.

With a new resolution, I took my hand away from his grasp and stalked into the main guild hall, to find it deserted except for a lonely Erza.

Erza POV

I pushed my strawberry cake around the plate, for once in three years having no appetite for it. Today Lucy had come back, and the girl I had loved so dearly as a sister was still there, but she had learnt to shut out her love.

And it was all my fault.

Three years ago, members of our guild had been attacked on the way home by a group of demons naming themselves Tarturus, and that night they had come home, bloody and bruised, near death. After speculation and questioning we had come to the conclusion that they wanted something to do with Fairy Tail, perhaps a member, or a sacred magical item.

Either way, they would not have it.

But when this happened every night for three months, we had managed to keep it a secret from the rest of the guild, but now we knew we must send away our most loved ones.

And so we did.

We figured out that they would not leave by merely telling them to as they faced potential danger, as they loved us too much not to fight. So we sent them away in the cruelest way possible, but it did the trick.

But we never would have done it if it meant they would leave us for so long and then shut their hearts out towards us.

Hearing a movement from the direction of the stairs, I was interrupted of my contemplating, and wondered who would dare to anger one of the ten wizard saints?

Natsu, perhaps.

It was Lucy.

She sauntered down the steps confidently, as if she had never just risked her life to save us from Laxus. Instantly, I was confused, should I go up to her and attempt conversation, even after all I'd done, or simply leave her be and let her walk her out of my life again?

No.

I would bring our Lucy back.

However, by the time I had reached this conclusion, she was already nearing the door.

"Lucy!"

She merely raised her right arm, with her thumb outwards and her finger closed to it pointing upwards.

The Fairy Tail signature.

Smiling in acknowledgement, I raised my hand as well, hoping, just hoping, there was still a chance.

After all, she had come back on the anniversary of her disappearance.

Hiya!

Did you enjoy it? Sorry it took so long! I was stuck on what to write. Anyway, once again, I do not own Fairy Tail, all I own is the plot of this story and my own characters. Please rate, comment, vote and follow me!
