Life :)

You took steps out from your room, following Orochimaru. You quietly pat down at your own clothes, which were a long skirt, shoes, and a quite baggy shirt. You sighed. "Are you going to try and kill me again?" You sarcastically asked.

Orochimaru let out a light yet dark and meaningful laugh. "Of course not." He purred as he continued on the dark hall. "I just want you to meet somebody who newly arrived." He informed you. "Somebody who can kill me?"

You entered into the large room and looked around. "For a second I actually thought you would take me outside." You frowned before looking ahead to see somebody. "How old is he? Why is he even dressing like that?" You asked, not feeling even the littlest bit intimidated by this apparently dangerous man.

"He's fifteen now." Orochimaru answered.

"She doesn't have to know anything about me." Sasuke huffed as he glared directly at you and tried to meet eyes with you, only to notice that he couldn't see your eyes because they were covered with a cloth. "Is this the dude you were so excited about?" You scoff. "And you brought me here because I can technically live without my eyes." You assume as you walked forward.

You pat the throne he sat on before climbing and sitting in the area higher than he was in.

You heard footsteps leave the room and assumed Orochimaru left before you bent forward and slipped down next to Sasuke. "So," you hummed as you leaned back "How are you feeling in this horribly disgusting and unsanitary base?" You asked, only for your words to be met by silence.

Eventually, a hand gripped at your eye mask and pulled the cloth away. You jerked back in surprise as you finally saw the boy for the first time. Your eyes widened. "I thought you were something special." He grunted as he tossed the cloth away.

"Special? Guess so. I can't and never have seen any colors, so I guess you can consider me special." You sigh. "Just black and gray." You murmured. "And chakra if you consider that special." You add, looking up.

He stared at you and noticed how dead you looked. Your eyes were like they had a dark shade over them, and your chuckles and smiled looked real, but it didn't feel right. You might as well have been dead. Now that he thought about it, you were extremely pale. Not in a sickly way, though. What was most sickly about your appearance was the dark bags under your eyes. It looked like you haven't slept for days, or even months.

"When was the last time you left this base?" He demanded, to which you eyed him. "Left the base? Don't be funny with me, I never left." You answered honestly. "I'm only here to be a replacement body for Orochimaru, if he fails to find one." You shrug, leaning down and stretching in boredom.

He stared at you. He caught a glimpse of your eyes and saw all the hatred that was contained in your eyes. It was as if your hatred was much bigger than his. "If you're a replacement body, you have some sort of special skill, don't you?" He asked, to which you eyed him.

"No," you bluntly lied, and turned away, your brows raised at his question. "That's a lie." He assumed, glaring at you. He hated being lied to when it was somebody weaker than him. A scoff left your lips, and you glared back at him. "I don't have any skills, it's more of a genetic." You shrugged.

"That's a skill." "No it's not. That's like saying being able to use a knife is a skill. It isn't a skill until you can actually use the thing you have, like cooking with the knife or assassinating with it. I'm not allowed to use it, and I'm not skilled at it, so it's not a skill, mister genius." You scoffed at him.

Although Sasuke had the urge to kill you, he stopped himself and turned away with a silent grunt of disinterest. "Well, I won't be a replacement anymore, actually." You admitted with bitter disappointment. "I'm more sick than he is, and he won't help me. I'm going to die within these three years or so, and that's what I was told." You continued, not caring if he was interested or not. "Maybe faster if I don't get my life together and try to fix my health, but it's all pointless, you know? I won't live, so why try?" You asked as you stared down.

"I won't even be able to get revenge on my family for abandoning me." You sighed, looking up. "Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be outside." You murmured. "So let me ask a question. What is it like to be out there? To be able to fight freely at will, to be able to train when you want and to be useful when you want?" You asked, curious.

"It's a horrible world." He spat without hesitation.

"No matter where you go, there's always somebody who will try to stop you." He glared at you.

You took slow breaths on the bed, hearing doors slam and shut.

Who could be visiting you on this date, so close to your death, you wondered as your eyes were slowly turned to the blond boy who stared at you, shocked. "Have you come to kill me, or save me from my pain?" You let out an airy laugh as you slowly say up, and coughed up blood.

"I assume you're looking for Sasuke." You assumed as you slowly stood up, despite the fact you couldn't walk properly. The boy rushed forward and gently pushed you back, seeming desperate. "You know where Sasuke is?" He asked, rather quietly as if you were fragile, which wasn't wrong.

"Yeah, he's down the hall, actually. You must be that Naruto dude he talked about." You smiled in pain. He silently summoned clones, and his clones helped you up. "Thanks so much," he thanked you before he ran out, and his clones helped you out the room slowly. You didn't even bother asking where you were being taken to. A few moments later, an explosion went off, followed by an eye piercing light shining towards you and making you wince.

A few moments later, your eyes lit up. "Sunlight." You whispered as you looked ahead and saw Naruto desperately talking to somebody. You slowly tugged yourself away from the clones and walked forward while leaning against the walls, to be greeted by Sasuke who stood up on the ledge and glared down at Naruto.

It was a moment that Sasuke saw you, and his eyes widened. You were just standing there, even though you've been getting closer to your death since two days ago. "Naruto, I'm not returning to konoha." Sasuke glared at Naruto once more before he appeared in front of you in nearly a moment, and jumped away while carrying you. "So?" He asked under his breath. "It feels warm, but it hurts. I wished I was able to see it sooner." You responded with a weak laugh, loving the warmth but covering your eyes that felt like it burned from the sunlight. It hurt.

"If only.." you murmured as you smiled at Sasuke. He stared blankly at you before he gently sat you down and wordlessly walked away to take care of Naruto and the others. "If only I could see more." You cried. Your vision was nearly gone already, and you barely managed to see the world.

You were later picked up again by Sasuke who saw that you were getting closer to your death by moment. You felt yourself being transported somewhere and sighed, seeing the sunlight gone.

"Sas..uke.." you murmured, staring into the abyss. "It was a nice life with you." You smiled, memories flashing in your brain in a seemingly slow motion. "Whatever happens..in the future, find somebody else to l..love. Somebody who can equally pro..tect and love.. you." You told him, feeling a tear land on your face.

You couldn't hear him sob though. It pained you to know that he silently sobbed, but you were stopped as you suddenly appeared, looking around a colorful world. You saw Sasuke. "A genjutsu?" You asked, looking at your hands. Color.

You looked around, shock and admiration written on your face. "stop.." you cried while laughing, unable to take the pain. It pained you to know that you had to leave, but Sasuke grabbed your hand. "It'll be okay." He smiled widely, never like he had ever done in person, but something told you this was how he felt inside.

"It'll be okay." You repeated, nodding towards him before everything began to fade away. First the trees, then the ground. Lastly, Sasuke, then yourself.

Your hand fell, and Sasuke laid you in the bed, tears steaming down his face.

"I never even got to tell you how I felt." He cried harder, gripping your hand as it slowly got colder by moment.

What was once a live innocent girl was now dead. Killed by the hands of the world. It left a torn and broken boy behind, who continued to cry as your heavy hand slipped away from his grasp. They say, that nothing is permanent, but he felt as if his feelings for the girl proved that saying wrong.

It was goodbye, so it evidently never mattered how he felt anymore. He had no say in this cruel world, as the girl would never wake up again to see another ray of sunlight, or enjoy the air in her lungs ever again.
