A subtle sigh left your parted lips, and you were left bored with Deidara to guard the backup base. Your hands remained under your chin, and you rolled your eyes while Deidara complained. "Who even needs to protect a backup base? We have like 7 others.." He murmured, and you closed your eyes. God, you couldn't help but to agree with his words, as much as you were obedient to Pein. Later on, you were finally dismissed, and bid your goodbye to the other male.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Dei-chan!" You smiled widely, before giving him a strong punch to the arm. "Ow! I told you to stop doing that, un!" He scolded, scowling at you. "My goodness, you're a mass murderer! Grow up!" You laughed, before he rolled his eyes at you. "And somebody who cried over a book is telling me this? I hope I'm not hearing this correctly, hm," He grumbled, pouting. You gasped, placing a hand over your chest. "That's justified!" You spoke, to which he laughed. "Whatever, don't get lost again. I'd hate to have to look for you in the forest again." He spoke, and you both took your own ways. You'd usually walk with him, but as you two were called off, Pein called you in.

Though you both joked about how he would probably kill you and put you up on the wall, it didn't help much. Your heart was pounding heavily as you tried to dig through your memory. Had you done something wrong?

You always tried to be a good individual when you were associated with Pein, but perhaps even that wouldn't save you. What scared you the most was the fact that he called you to his actual place. He never did such a thing. You slowly walked through the area of which the rain village was, the water rippling underneath your legs as you had finally arrived. Without difficulty, you snuck in through the guards and stopped at an alley of which you were told to go to.. or at least you hoped it was the right alley., There was simply too much turns in this village, and it was confusing. The village always looked the same, too. Every building.

You were so lost in the scenery that you didn't notice Pein approaching you. The sound of the rain hitting the ground deafened the noise of him calling for your name. The second time, you heard him, and you quickly turned. "My apologies, I didn't notice you there. I'll get out of the way" You spoke almost automatically, and moved out of the way. You had assumed it was a random man. It was then that you noticed that this man was Pein. Your breath hitched for a moment, and you lowered your head to him quickly. "I sincerely apologize. I didn't mean to come off so unprofessionally." You apologized, eyes wide. He saw this, and lowered his gaze to glare at you.

Your whole body froze up with fear, and your breathing was quick. Eventually, he moved forward, and he grasped your chin, lifting your face to admire your beautiful features. The rain soaked your hair, and the nice droplets rolled down your face. "Don't apologize. You've been working hard to be the best, after all." He spoke, and your eyes widened. With your lips quivering, you gave a heavy nod of appreciation. Nobody had really acknowledged your efforts before.. well, nobody but Toby. You always assumed that he just wanted you to feel better about yourself.

"I see you've gotten quite close to Deidara." He spoke, his eyes on you. His voice was a mere, deep mumble, but the words felt like it boomed in your head. It was enough to make you cower with complete fear, but strangely enough, your heart only raced in your chest. Now it wasn't like any other type of fear that you had experienced.
