Chapter 3

Third Person POV

With Connor

Nyx teleported Connor and himself to 'The Land of Peace'.

"It has been a while since I last came here", Connor said. "Indeed it has", Nyx replied, "Find a comfortable spot because this is going to be a long talk." "You did pause time right?", Connor asked and Nyx nodded.

Connor sat down in his favourite spot, under the tree with Nyx right next to him. "Let me talk first and questions after, okay?", Nyx said. "Mhm", Connor replied.

Nyx was about to start explaining when Connor interrupted him. "You will explain everything right? And give me every single detail?" Nyx huffed and Connor cheekily said, "You didn't start talking yet." Nyx rolled his eyes and said, "Yes, I will tell you everything, now shush."

"First of all, it was on purpose that only yours and Amaya's bracelets were glowing", Nyx started explaining. "But why?", Connor again interrupted him. Nyx took some deep breaths to calm down before replying, "I will tell you if you MAYBE STOPPED INTERRUPTING ME!" "Oops sorry, you can continue."

"As I was saying before you rudely interrupted me, it was on purpose that only your bracelets starting glowing. I am pleased to tell you...", Nyx paused to add more of a dramatic effect, "Congratulations my child, you have found your soulmate."

Nyx was expecting a much bigger reaction from Connor rather than just sitting and blinking his eyes, confused. After a while, Connor said, "My what?" Nyx stood there a bit shocked. How could this 14 year and a half year old boy not know what is a soulmate?

"Have you never, ever heard of soulmates before?" "I have heard of them, I just don't know what it means" "I don't know how you don't know, but whatever. A soulmate is someone with whom you have a special, almost spiritual connection." Nyx saw Connor's blank face staring back at him and continued, "It basically means that you two are connected on a very deep level." "Oooooo", Connor said, finally understanding what it all meant.

"So who is my soulmate? Is it someone I know? Or maybe someone I talked to today? But I didn't talk to anyone new today. Maybe I only saw this someone? What if it's a completely random stranger that I have no idea who they are!?", Connor started rambling on. "If you maybe LET ME TALK I will explain everything.", Nyx said. Connor snapped out of his panicked state and nodded, signaling for Nyx to continue.

"I can continue? Good. To put your mind at ease, yes, you do know your soulmate, pretty well if I might add. I am going to tell you who your soulmate is, I know that I am pretty annoying, as Arinya always says, but I am not that cruel. Don't freak out okay? Wait, I know you will.", Nyx explained, smirking at the last sentence. "Ha ha, very funny", Connor sarcastically replied, "Now will you tell me who this very special soulmate is?"

"Yes yes, I will. Your one and only soulmate is........ none other than Amaya!", Nyx finally said. A few moments passed while Connor processed this information before he stood up, threw his hands up and shouted, not believing his luck.

"OH MY GOSH! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. You're kidding, right?" "Kid, did I ever lie to you?", Nyx asked, expecting Connor's reaction to that. "Um, no?" "So it's true, every single bit"

"I can't believe it, the girl I have known all my life, is one of my best friends, spend almost every day and night together and fought several nighttime villains side by side, IS MY SOULMATE!? This is the best day of my life!", Connor exclaimed, overjoyed to say the least. "Yes yes, the girl you have liked for four years." "Four years!!?" "Yes, four years. From when you were still 10 years old. You didn't know what that feeling was, but now you do."

"Oh wow, but anyways, what is the purpose of the light? When we moved the bracelets closer to each other the light got brighter." "You figured it out on your own kid. When you are near each other the light gets brighter. You might think that it's useless having that light, but it isn't. Also, as you might have noticed, the light gets even brighter when you make physical contact. When you hold hands, it gets brighter. If you hug, it will get even brighter, if you kiss, brighter, etcetera."

"Wow, so if I can't find Amaya I can just use this light and when I get closer to her the light gets brighter?", Connor asked, seeing if he understood everything correctly. "Exactly", Nyx replied back, "I believe that's all I have to tell you. Do you have any questions?"

"Yes, only one" "Ask away" "Does Greg have a soulmate? And how will he know if he found her or not?", Connor asked, feeling concerned for his other best friend.

"First of all that's two questions, and second of all everyone has a soulmate. So yes, Greg does have a soulmate. He will know when he found her when his bracelet starts to produce that same light that you and Amaya both have."

"But how will he know who is his soulmate?" "Ah yes, I thought that I forgot to say something. The bracelets start to shine when both you and soulmate like each other." "SO AMAYA LIKES ME TOO!?!?", Connor asked, feeling even happier. "Yes kid, she does" "THIS IS REALLY THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!", Connor yelled, grinning from ear to ear.

"Ok, so to continue where I left off, Greg will know who is his soulmate when his bracelet starts shining and who he likes is his soulmate.", Nyx explained, "Any more questions?" "Nope, I don't think so."

"Well if you have any questions you know what to do. Shall I take you back now?" "Yep" "Ok, let's go", Nyx said, while unpausing time and teleporting themselves back to Connor's bedroom.

"Thank you Nyx, for everything.", Connor thanked his spirit animal, while scratching behind his blue friend's ear. "You're welcome, and good luck when you'll see her tonight.", Nyx said, winking. "Oh shoot, I forgot about that! Oh my gosh, it's going to be so awkward!", Connor said, panicking about seeing his crush, well soulmate, tonight.

"Nyx what should I do!?", he was going to ask Nyx but his blue cat friend was already gone.
