Third Person POV
"Ah, break finally", Connor said as he sat opposite his two best friends. "But the lessons today went by pretty fast" "And that's because we didn't even have any actual lessons today Greg", Amaya replied. "Oh, yeah, right"
"This is the best part of the school day", Connor said after a while. Greg and Amaya just looked at each other and shrugged, as they strangely enough, actually liked school.
They sat eating their lunch in silence, Connor stealing glances at Amaya and looking back down when she looked back at him. This glancing continued for a while until finally their eyes met each other and stayed locked staring into each other's eyes.
Greg got bored of the silence and didn't notice what was happening between his friends. "It's crazy that we're in the same class again... Connor, Amaya? You there? Hello? Earth to Connor and Amaya!", he said, waving his hands in front of their faces at the last part. They shook their heads and looked away, pink decorating both of their cheeks.
"What were you saying Greg?", Amaya asked him, after a while. "I was saying that, hey wait, why are the bracelets shining?", he said as he noticed the light coming out from Amaya and Connor's bracelets. Amaya and Connor both looked down to their bracelets to see what Greg was talking about. Surprisingly enough, there was a white light coming out of their PJ Bracelets.
"What is this?", Amaya asked. "I don't know, maybe PJ Robot is trying to contact us?", Connor continued. "But doesn't the light start flashing if PJ Robot is trying to contact us?", Greg replied. "Hey, my bracelet doesn't have that light coming out of it.", he continued.
"Why are our bracelets only doing this?", Connor asked but nobody knew. "Maybe there is defect in my bracelet, or maybe I broke it!?" "If you broke it the spirit animals surely would have told you something." "Amaya's right, besides, you did transform yesterday night." "Yea, and I didn't hit it against anything."
"We'd better ask the spirit animals after school", Connor whispered, "after all, they're the experts when it comes to our bracelets." "Yea, you're right", Greg added.
"Can I see something with your bracelet, Connor?", Amaya asked him. "Sure, let me take this off", he replied while trying to take it off but it wouldn't be taken off. "That's strange, let me try to take mine off", Amaya said, and even hers didn't come off. Greg noticed this and took his bracelet off, with ease. "Weird, mine came off easily", he said.
"If you can't take off your bracelet, you have to just move your arm near me", Amaya told Connor. "Sure, here you go", he replied, moving his hand near hers.
"Woah, guys did you see that!?", Greg exclaimed. "See what?", they replied. "Move your hands away from each other", he said. They didn't understand, but still did as told. "Okay, now look at the light and move your hands closer." "Fluttering feathers! That light got a bit brighter!", Amaya exclaimed while Connor was trying to understand how that happened. "Wait, let me try something.", Amaya said while she grabbed Connor's hand in hers.
Connor.exe has stopped working.
His whole face turned red, with his eyes wide open. Her hand was soft, hand warm while her fingertips were freezing. Meanwhile, Greg could only watch as Connor turned redder, trying not to laugh at how his friend reacted. If Connor's crush on Amaya wasn't obvious, it sure was now.
Amaya was totally oblivious to her effect on Connor. "Wow, boys, did you see this?" "See what?", Greg replied. "Look", she said while removing her hand from Connor's and then holding it again. "Did you see it? The light got even brighter when I held his hand!", Amaya exclaimed. "Yeah, I saw it! It's so cool!", Greg exclaimed, "Did you see it Connor?"
"Huh?", Connor said, still trying to process that the girl of his dreams actually held his hand. "The light got brighter when Amaya held your hand." "Wow, really!?" "Yeah, she can show you, only if you want", Greg said, smirking at him. "S-sure, only if she's okay with it." Amaya giggled before proceeding to do the same thing. Connor, as well, was surprised at this.
"Guys, I don't thinking that there's something wrong with my bracelet." "What do you mean, Greg?" "I don't know Amaya, I just think so" "But why would the spirit animals leave you out?", Connor asked. Greg just shrugged.
"Any idea why our bracelets did this?", Amaya asked. "Nope" "Not at all" , they replied. "Then we'll just ask the spirit animals after school", Amaya replied.
"Wait, are we going on patrol tonight?", Connor asked while whispering. The other two nodded. "PJ Masks we're on our way...", Connor started. "Into the night to save the day!", they all finished. "Even though there's nothing unusual going on", Greg said. "You never know with the nighttime villains", Connor replied.
After school, walking home
"Still no idea?" "No Amaya" "Well, we're almost home, so we're going to figure out this mystery soon!", Amaya said. "Bye guys, talk to you tonight!" "Bye Greg!" "See you tonight!"
In Connor's bedroom
When Connor opened the door to his bedroom, he saw his spirit animal, Nyx, sitting on his bed, licking his paw.
"Hey Nyx!" "You called?", Nyx casually replied. "We haven't seen each other for a while and that's how you greet me!? No 'Hello Connor, how are you?', just a plain and simple 'You called'!? It's like you don't even care about me!"
Nyx rolled his eyes and jumped into Connor's arms. "Of course I care about you, you are my chosen one after all." Connor stroked him and said, "Awww, I was just messing with you. Anyways, you know what I want to know"
"You want to know what's happening to the bracelets right?" Connor nodded. "Then let's go and I'll explain everything."
Hiii! I'm back with this book! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter!
