Third Person POV

With Greg

"I still don't understand what's happening to their bracelets", Greg thought while walking the path to his house, glancing over to his 2 best friends. "Is there something wrong with my bracelet? Did I accidentally damage it? But I don't remember hitting it against something though."

"Hey honey! How did your first day back at school go?" He was still lost in his thoughts when he opened the front door to his house and walked inside, so his mum's voice caught him by surprise. His mum snickered from the kitchen doorway at how he jumped. "Oh, hi mum!", Greg said after noticing her in the kitchen doorway. "Thinking 'bout something?" "Yeah yeah", he replied. She just nodded and didn't press on any further.

"I'm going to my room to change okay?" "Okay, be back when I call you" Greg nodded and went straight to his room where he saw his pet, and spirit animal, Lionel. "Hey Lionel, everything alright?", he greeted him. "Hello Greg, everything is good on my side. What about you? You must a lot of questions concerning what happened today, right?", Lionel said. "I'm good, just confused about what happened today. Why are only their bracelets shining? Is mine broken? Is there something wrong with mine? Is-", Greg started rambling but Lionel put a hand (?) up to silence him. "Wait until we get there and I'll answer all your questions, or else we might get caught here." Greg nodded and stopped talking.

"So now close your eyes..." Greg did as he was told and when he opened them again he found himself in the spirit animals' kind of world. He then heard Lionel say, "Find a comfortable spot because this conversation can take a while." Greg found a nice spot on the cliffs and sat there, with his legs dangling off the cliff. Underneath him was the crystal clear, aquamarine river. Lionel found a comfortable spot on a rock with the sun shining on him and laid down there.

"I'm going to start, okay?", Lionel said, "if you have any questions just ask, don't hesitate, I won't eat you." Greg smiled and nodded. "First of all, your bracelet isn't broken, there's nothing wrong with it." Greg breathed a sigh of relief and then asked, "Then why isn't mine shining like Connor and Amaya's?" "It is a bit complicated how it happens and us spirit animals are still trying to understand how but I will try to explain it as best as I can.", Lionel said.

He started explaining, "Before I begin, you must know that soulmates really exist, and not only in fairytales." "So all those books that Amaya reads about someone finding their soulmate and all that are true!?", Greg exclaimed, before he had thought that soulmates didn't exist, that they were only an exaggerated fictional thing found in romance books. "Yes, they do, but I don't blame you for not believing. You still are quite young to feel what is said in romance novels.", Lionel reassured him.

"So let me continue, every person in the world has a soulmate-" "Me too!?", Greg asked, still trying to believe all this, but he knew that the spirit animals didn't lie. "Yes, you too" "Do I know her?" "I can't tell you, I'm sorry.", Lionel said, if he told him, things wouldn't go as seen in the future. Greg was a bit disappointed that he couldn't know, but he understood. Time is a very fragile thing, and doing what wasn't seen could disrupt an entire timeline (he was taught this by Lionel).

"So were was I? Oh yes, so every person has a soulmate, but you never find out who it is. Well that's not the case for those chosen to be the PJ Masks." If Greg wasn't already confused, he was now. "Wait how?", he asked. Lionel smiled and said in his usual calm voice, "When the two, or it can be more in the case of a polyamorous relationship, soulmates start liking each other, the PJ bracelets start shining a white light from the animal symbol."

Something in Greg's mind clicked and he thought of what happened during the school day, more specifically the break. He blinked and opened and closed his mouth while trying to find the right words to say before he said, "That's exactly what happened to Connor and Amaya today..." Realisation hit him like a truck and wide eyed he exclaimed while grinning, "THEY'RE SOULMATES!?" Lionel chuckled and said, "Yes Greg, they are."

Greg was grinning from ear to ear at what he just found out. His two best friends were made for each other! His younger self would have been slightly jealous of them as they would probably spend more and more time together and leave him out but now he knew that they would never do that. Their friendship had grown stronger over the years and all three of them knew better than to leave anyone behind.

"I still can't quite believe this, who knew that soulmates really existed? And that Connor and Amaya would be soulmates too! Wait, they know all about this right?", Greg asked his spirit animal who was lying down on a rock near him. "Yes yes they know, Nyx and Arinya have already explained this to their chosen", Lionel reassured, "Now I think that's all you need to know about this situation, should we get going back to your house?"

"Wait, I have one last question", Greg said while standing up. Lionel looked up to him, signalling that he can ask whatever questions he had. "You will let me know when I found my soulmate right?", he asked. Lionel smiled before answering, "You will know because of the bracelet, but when you find your soulmate yes, I will have a talk with you again. Do you have any more questions?" Greg shook his head as if to say no.

He closed his eyes as he was used to doing when travelling with the spirit animals and when he reopened them he was back in his bedroom. "I have to go back there to discuss some stuff with Nyx and Arinya, I will talk again to you someday soon.", Lionel said from his tank. Greg nodded and said, "Bye buddy, I will speak to you whenever you can then." Lionel smiled and in a puff of green smoke he disappeared.

Greg sat on his bed and thought a bit about what he just learned. "So soulmates huh? I have always suspected that he likes her... and now I know that it's true... Well not like he was doing a great job at hiding it." He smiled at that, Connor's crush on Amaya was pretty obvious that he was surprised that she hadn't picked up on it before. "What I didn't know was that she reciprocated those feelings... I'll talk to them more about this tonight when we meet up for patrol. Wait... since they know about this... they also know about the other liking them too!" He grinned and rubbed his hands in an evil kind of way. "Ohhhh, they best be prepared for a lot of teasing tonight..."
