During your temporary and strange stay at Malfoy Manor, you had mostly kept to yourself. The way you were treated by the Malfoys left you entirely mystified, having thought that they would have greatly looked down upon someone like you. Afterall you knew nothing about your family, whether your father had been a wizard or a muggle and of what had happened to your Veela mother.
You had certainly been regarded as a hybrid freak by most Slytherins you had unfortunately encountered, and before you had even arrived at Hogwarts you had received the same sentiment by several members of the Wizengamot during your trial. The Malfoys however, seemed to hold you in high regard for some mysterious and unknown reason to you. You did not like it, it felt strangely superficial. Like someone trying to be your friend, when they really just wanted to learn off your weaknesses.
Draco had hardly spoken to you either, apart from during meal times where his family seemed to force him into politeness whenever addressing you. You perfectly understood why he seemed highly uncomfortable with these arrangements too, Afterall the last time he had been with you he were beaten bloody by Fred. During the last day spent at the manor, you had managed to corner him after dinner.
"I just wanted to apologize, for what Fred did to you.." you told him remorsefully, swallowing all the pride you had ever had.
"Is that all?" he sneered back at you, and you nodded.
"That is all."
Your guestroom was uncomfortably big, with a large queen-sized four poster bed, draped with emerald silk with matching bedding. In the corner there was a fireplace that seemed to always be burning, yet despite it you felt the whole mansion was remarkably cold. On the walls there hung portraits of rather sinister looking wizards and witches, who never said anything but watched you with their scornful eyes. It was far better than what you had been given at Spinner's end, however it did not feel any homely at all. You got up from the bed where you had sat brushing through your long silvery hair, thinking about the day to come just when you heard a knock at the door.
When you opened it up, you had been expecting a house elf to be there bringing you tea, but it was none other than Draco Malfoy. He had a serious look to him at this time, and before anyone could say anything he just walked into your room through the half opened door, to your surprise..
"If you thought you could just barge in here this late at night Draco, you are so dead wrong" you said, still holding the door open so he could leave. "Like it or not, I'm still Fred's girlfriend"
He rolled his eyes to your remark, "Don't flatter yourself Y/ln, I have a girlfriend, I have no interest in filth like you"
"Oh Parkinson, yeah she's lovely isn't she. Got your daddy's approval yet?" you sneered back at him, and you could tell he was smouldering even more.
"Shutt up, and close the door" he said, as if he had suddenly realised someone could hear you yelling.
"I will, but not until you leave" you snapped back, but you were startled as he suddenly held his wand and shut the door behind you with a simple spell.
"Listen up and be quiet, there's something I have to tell you" he said almost whispering, his cold blue eyes telling you that whatever this was it was serious.
"The day you got here, I overheard my father talking the Snape.."
Your eyes widened with interest, he was here to tell you something. Something important for once.
"I couldn't make out all of it, but Father was thanking Snape for following his advice and stepping in with whatever trial you had with the Wizengamot. Said it was brilliant how it seemed to be all Dumbledore's initiative, he's the Chief Warlock afterall..."
