You had never quite payed attention to Professor Trelawney's lessons, which you could easily predict the outcome of yourself. At least a few death predictions and some bad omens here and there, and that was that. But when she stopped in front of you, gazing into the crystal ball on the table before you with a look of sheer horror on her face, you felt goosebumps raise above your skin. She looked at you again, and simply said she would like to have a word with you after class.

"All you have ever wanted to know will come to you child, but the knowledge will be as forbidden as the fruit. As the muggles say, the apple never falls far from the tree. But you child, shall only know danger and fear when you bite into it"

Her prediction shook you up, it had seemed so vague and yet it terrified you all the same. Was it really not wise to dig into your past, would finding out your true parentage only bring you misery?

All these thoughts had been circling around your head all afternoon, and Cedric could clearly notice something was off about you.

"What's on your mind Y/n ?" he asked, playfully as to not seem too intrusive. You loved that about him, but you did not want to worry him.

"It's just that the easter holiday is coming up, and I doubt Snape will let me go with you.." you lied,

"He does not seem to approve of you" you laughed. Thinking about the exceedingly sour look on his face every time he passed by you in the halls, it was amusing it pissed him of so much, nevertheless.

Cedric chuckled, "You'd think he would have warmed up a little by now"

Before he placed a quick kiss on your lips when nobody was looking,

"I can stay here with you though, I'm sure my father would understand"

You smiled at him wistfully, leaning back at the cold stone wall.

"Cedric..you already missed Christmas because of the ball, and I'm sure he misses you dearly" you tried to sound convincing, "Don't leave him lonely just because of me, i'll be fine here by myself, it's just two weeks afterall"

"Write to me then, and I'll come back early if you need me, i'll gladly fly on my broom all night if I have too"

"I know you would" you said, feeling your cheeks warming up by his words. Stepping up on your tip toes to kiss him.

The Easter holiday came and most students left Hogwarts for their family homes, you were quite happy however that Hermione remained at the castle with you. She had been quite upset however, after receiving a package of miniature easter eggs from Mrs Weasley, who had been angry about an article in Witch Weekly or something like that. You yourself had received none at all, you were sure Mrs Weasley may have been excited about having you return to the Burrow and that Fred had been putting of having to tell her about your breakup until now. Thinking about how The Burrow had felt like the first real home you had ever stepped into, this fact made you rather sad. Without Fred you were not a part of the family anymore, you were no longer welcome as they had promised you would always be.

The Durmstrang as well as the Beauxbatons students remained at the castle over the holiday, you had not given it much thought until one early morning, which you had spent reading under the shadow of a large Willow tree down by the Black Lake. Someone had suddenly stood there right in front of the blinding sun, with a notable accent saying,

"I thought zat I might find you here, Cedric he said you liked ziz place" her nose curled as a large mosquito flew by.

Looking up you saw that it was the Veela girl Fleur Delacour, who you had long given up on talking to. After brushing the ground, she sat down next to you carefully folding the skirt beneath her.
