"I LIKE YOU A LOT CHAT BUT- I ALSO KINDA-SORTA- LIKE ADRIEN AGRESTE..?"
Nobody's POV
"I- MEAN- WAIT NOT LIKE THAT- actually maybe a little bit like that- YOU KNOW WHAT HOW BOUT WE FORGET I SAID ANYTHING -" She squeaked out.
Adrien tried his hardest to stifle the laugh that was coming up in the back of his throat. He couldn't help but snort a little.
Marinette looked up at him confused and slightly offended. The frown on her pink lips was evident.
"S-sorry Princess." He said in between laughs.
Marinette clearly wasn't finding it funny. Chat looked at her again before breaking into another fit of giggles. I mean... who could blame him? He was the same person after all.
He sighed and cupped her cheeks, before planting a kiss on her forehead. Marinette looked up at him forgetting about her annoyance. A pink blush spreading on her freckled cheeks.
She looked at him before squeezing her eyes shut and letting out a high pitched whimper. Chat looked at her confused. The whimper became higher as she cupped her cheeks trying to snap out of it.
"Pri-Marinette?"
"996 roses and a dandelion."
Chat felt his heart jump out of his chest.
What?
He felt shockwaves go through his body as they chilled him to his bone. Even though he should've suspected that more and more memories would come back to her, but it felt different when it was actually happening in front of him.
The quiet noises, the gasp of realization, the way her eyes lit up when she knew something.
She looked at him with a smile before laughing, "I remember something!" She yelled before tackling him on her bed with a giggle.
Chat surprised by her forwardness laughed to as he hit the headboard of her bed.
"I- I remember—well-Er- it was more like a voice...I'm guessing it was yours because I could hear the smirk in your voice." She teased. She pulled him into a hug and felt him smile against her. The two stayed like that for a while before breaking apart.
"996 roses and a dandelion!"
"What did it mean though..?" Chat looked at her surprised. "Umm... well..." the rain was still trickling down the windows from the outside as both laid sprawled on both sides of the bed.
Chat Blanc sighed and turned over to meet this gorgeous girl eye to eye. Marinette blushed at the sudden zone in and attention. She hated when people stared at her but- she didn't mind when he stared at her. She didn't mind his attention at all. In fact, seeing it right now, she craved it more than anything.
"I thought you deserved a thousand roses and a dandelion for luck, but," he laughed, "I already gave you four roses beforehand, so..." he trailed off trying to explain. "I-I mean- you deserve so many more roses and presents and chocolates-I mean your-your absolutely perfect and- and- gorgeous, smart, funny, cute, can kick my ass any days at video games-" Chat was obviously sticking himself in a run-on sentence of what seemed to be a confession of love and flirting.
"So yeah... it only made sense to give you the other 996 roses... and a dandelion for good luck."
He couldn't help it. It may not have been his Marinette, but in some ways she was still Marinette and that part of her- well he couldn't help but feel drawn to.
Both didn't realize how close to each other in this heart-to-heart until they felt their noses brushing against each other. Neither moved; instead, they shared a comforting moment.
Chat Blanc sighed, looking outside. He would have to sleep here tonight. His father had never asked him where he was sleeping, mostly because Adrien never let him have the chance to go near him. The rain was an exception, though-
Sometimes he still felt afraid of the thunder. Also, he couldn't risk getting the miracle box and his notes on it wet.
The miracle box! Shit. He had still hidden it in the nook of the school library. He silently thanked himself that summer wasn't over and that his father wouldn't dare think that Adrien would hide it in such a public place.
Marinette noticed the boy sigh. She got closer to him if that was possible, there lips barely touching, where had this surge of confidence come from?! She looked up to see his reaction, but he looked like he was deep in thought. His blue eyes flashed before he said,
"Princess, Uh... I gotta go-" Chat Blanc immediately stopped himself and looked down at her.
They were on her bed. They were on her bed. Oh my god they were on her bed, side by side, about to kiss. Chat gave a tiny squeak and a blush before kissing the girl's nose and rushing out her window into the rain.
"Well... that was nice... I guess?" Marinette laughed, talking to herself. She placed her hand on where her white feline companion used to be. She smiled; it was still warm from where he once sat. She sighed snuggling into the position he once filled on her bed before-
"AHEM."
She looked behind herself to see Gabriel Agreste standing in her doorway.
He looked pissed. How-how much of that did he see?! Hopefully, nothing was Marinette's wish.
But I think we all know that was wrong.
"Marinette." His words were cold and sharp. She silently wished that Chat would come through the window and protect her from what would come next-Or Adrien for that matter.
"I told you he was dangerous. Why didn't you believe me? I let you stay here, I give you food, an internship, and I ask you to do one thing for me." His words spat our like venom.
"What do you have to say for yourself?" He scolded her harshly.
"WELL!" He repeated. This time she winced and buried herself deeper into her mattress trying to hold onto Chat Blanc's warmth. The thunder and rain outside were raging on the streets of Paris.
Marinette open and closed her mouth, ashamed.
"Marinette he is dangerous. He is public enemy number one!"
"WELL HE DOESN'T SEEM THAT DANGEROUS TO ME!" She snapped back.
A devilish smirk appeared on Gabriel's face as he paced around her room. "Oh, so you think you can trust someone like him- a low life- a criminal! All because he gave you a kiss on the nose and disappeared into the night!"
Marinette paused beginning to question herself. 'No' she though, 'He was a good guy. He promised her those 996 roses and dandelions, he promised her he would be their for her always and forever.'
Marinette shook off her doubts and stood her ground. "Yes, yes I do trust him."
Gabriel knew that Adrien hadn't told the girl his secret identity and who she really was, and that was his mistake.
In Adrien's defense he tried to tell her earlier that night but Marinette had interrupted him. And now it was too late.
"Then... he must of told you, you were Ladybug."
Marinette froze. She lifted herself off of the mattress and looked at him with wide eyes.
"W-what?"
"He broke your heart, and stole your earrings. He told you that didn't he? If you trust him so much~"
Marinette shook her head in disbelief. He wouldn't have lied to her right? I mean he did take her in and all-
"Ask him yourself if you don't believe me." Gabriel sneered and walked out of her room leaving the girl to herself.
Soon The whole truth would be revealed to Marinette and the storm would clear, but first she had to fight through the storm.
