"Amber, get over here now!" I yelled running out the school building after her.
"Gotta go, Eve! See ya tomorrow!" Amber ran to the school bus before the doors shut, and sadly, she made it.

I am going to murder her. She thinks she could just set me up on a date with a coward? We've been friends for years! I'm pretty sure if I wanted to go on a date, I would've informed her.

I love Amy, but my fucking goodness. This girl never gets the point. She thinks everyone's life is just a movie.

"Get in!" I heard a car horn and immediately knew it was my brother picking me up.
I threw my bag over my shoulder and stomped my way to the car.

"Jeez, what's your problem?" My big brother Nathan lowered down the car window and rested his hand on the passenger seat head rest.

"My problem is Amber and her stupid valentine thing." I slammed the car door when I got in and he gasped.
"How dare you slam her doors like that!? Ruby deserves some love, too." He rubbed the seat of his red Camaro.

"Okay, so what about it? She has a hobby, leave her alone." He rolled his eyes and drove off the school lot.
"It's not just that. She dragged me in her stupid thing and signed a card for me and put it in that stupid stupid heart shaped box and now I have to go on a stupid date Saturday because she thinks I deserve a boyfriend after all these years. Bullshit, Nathan. That is some bullshit." I scoffed and stared at the window. Nathan hated when I ranted to him sometimes, but my only other friend is Amber.

"Not gonna lie, your friend is right. You need a boyfriend. I'm tired of you running around the house listening to your sad music. You need someone to explore the city with." He grabbed a chip from a bag he had recently opened and began chomping on it.

I'm sorry- did I hear this right? My older brother wants me to get a boyfriend? What in the fuck is wrong with people these days!! What happened to when older brothers didn't even allow boys near their little sisters?

"What!?" I yelled, making him push on the breaks hard, also making me hit my head on the dashboard.
"Owwww." I groaned and rubbed my forehead.
"Your fault! You gave me a heart attack." He put his hand over his heart.
"Oh shut up." I rolled my eyes.

"Amber, I have 30 minutes until I need to get into the shower. You have thirty minutes to explain why you did what you did." I held the phone to my ear and grabbed my tv remote, looking through the channels.

"Okay! It was my gift to you! You need it! It's been forever since you've had sex, and a boyfriend! " She yelled the last part in my ear.

All of that was true, but that didn't bother me. I was just a 17 year old girl, living my life with myself.

"You're a clown, Amber. Do you know that?" I dropped the remote to the floor and put my left hand on my hip.
"I think I've been told before." I could feel her thick smile through the phone.
"I'm not going on that date, Amber." I stated.
"Ooo yes you are! You can't leave him hanging like that!" She gasped and pleaded.

Amy has learned over the years, and she never failed. Everyone she has set up has dated for at-least 6 months. No one has ever bailed on the date, and I know she doesn't want that to be me.

"Why not!? It's not like he's Prince Charming or anything." I scoffed and plotted on my bed.
"In my opinion, he is." She dramatically sighed.

Ding! She knows who he is!!!

"Who is he Amber!?" I asked.
"Umm, gotta go! Momma just made dinner!" She quickly said.
"Wait AMBER PLE-" and she hung up.

Great, now I'm stuck on a date with "charming" to-
Actually, I didn't even read the card. I didn't want to, but I figured that my curiosity was soon going to get the best of me. Why not read it? God, I hate myself.

Dear, Evelyn

Thank you for finally signing up! We are more than happy to have you participate in this years valentine!

Now be aware, the weather might be cold! Good thing there's a coffee shop around, and it's not that old.
There will be a lot of walking, so hopefully, there will be lots of talking!
Down down down, where the heart of Texas lays, that's where you will stay!

"Will this corny poem end?" I said out loud to myself.

Location: Sundance square, Fort Worth Texas
Clothing: blue flared jeans, white top, trench coat, white sneakers
Time: 6:30-11:30

5  hours with this person!? What is wrong with that girls head?? Not so mention this terrible outfit aswell.

"Whatcha reading eve?" My moms head popped in my doorway.

"This stupid card. I have to go on a blind date that Amber set up." I rolled my eyes and tossed the card beside me.
My mom stepped in the room and took a seat beside me.

"You finally signed up for the valentine thing?" She grabbed her card and analyzed it.
"No. Amber did." I scoffed and crossed my arms.

"Awww Sundance square! That's where me and your father met! It's very beautiful there, Evelyn." My mom patted my head.
"Yes it is, but to spend with a stranger? No thank you." I got up from the bed and headed to my bathroom.

"Loser." I heard my mom say under her breath and I laughed.
"Dinners gonna be ready, you better be down there in 40 minutes. Not playing with you, Evelyn." She pointed at me before she exited the room.
