Jess' P.O.V
I decide to be nice and get up early in the morning to make Louis and I some pancakes. I know he's been having a rough time ever since we arrived here and I wish I knew how to help.
I open the cabinets to find pancake mix and chocolate chips. Perfect. I start mixing the batch and preheat the stove top in the small kitchen. In no time, the pancakes are smelling delicious. I decide to make a smiley face out of chocolate chips for Louis.
I hear the old wooden steps creak under the pressure of Louis' feet and I instantly comb my hair with my fingers and check for flower on my cheeks.
"Good morning Louis! Hope I didn't wake you?" I hesitantly ask.
"Not at all Jess, I was awake anyways."
Oh. So he must of had trouble falling asleep after I left.
"I made you some pancakes," I try.
"Thank you, they smell great," he smiles a little.
I put the smiley pancake on his plate and place it in front of him to which he mutters a small "thanks" then I serve myself two hot cakes of my own.
The table is silent only when Louis suddenly moans.
"What's wrong?" I panick.
"Fo...fhood..." Louis groans incoherently with his mouth full.
I recognize that "Fo fhood" probably translates to so good.
I smile at him as he actually grins and continues munching on his pancakes. After, Louis washes the dishes and I dry them.
He looks out the window and sighs while handing me a plate.
"What's wrong now?" I gently ask.
"Hm, just thinking about this new life of ours. I just can't believe we actually pulled this off," he admits.
"Same here, I'm surprised my parents haven't issued a search party for me yet," I giggle.
"It's sad really, they're missing out on an incredible daughter," he glances over at me.
I blush and continue drying the plate he handed me.
"Should we head into town later to get some supplies just in case anyone does come try looking for you?" He suggests.
"Sounds like a plan," I nod.
Only then do I realize how bad that sounds.
"Looking for you..."
"Run away with me Louis..."
Am I really safe? I'm nit so sure anymore.
