Jess' P.O.V
I bite my lip too hard as I think of a plan. Blood. I shiver. Blood makes me cringe. I walk over to the bathroom to get a tissue to wipe it up then continue my pacing across the cool, wooden floor.
Think of something Jess.
I only have one plan in mind but I don't have much hope for it. I decide it's good enough if it means I don't have to waste any more time thinking about getting Louis out of his current situation.
I grab my backpack I used on the way to the shack and fill it up with all the important items.
Wallet. Check.
Phone. Check.
Change of clothes just in case. Check.
Food and water. Check.
Pepper Spray. Check.
The pepper spray might actually come in handy. At the time, I thought Louis was being overprotective but he was determined for me to have some sort of weapon besides my amazing karate skills to defend myself. I could never use a gun because I could never see myself killing someone. Ever. Maybe for Louis.I wipe the awful thought from my mind and focus on the task at hand. I need to go into town unnoticed and break Louis free. There's a lot of holes in my plan but I figure it's good as any.
I head out of the shack before locking it up and put up my hood. I try not to attract too much attention especially when the police will be lurking. As I head into town I turn down a dark alleyway only to run into more trouble.
"Hey baby, where's a pretty little thing like you headin'?"
I keep walking, figuring the sick perverts will leave me alone. Of course I'm wrong. Before I can get out of the alley the one who spoke to me first grabs my arm.
"Don't. Touch. Me." I growl.
He's messed with the wrong person. The anger builds within me as I think about Louis all locked up in a cell waiting for me. I have no time for this.
I drive my knee right up in between the legs of the idiot holding me and he instantly reaches down to hold his manliness. He groans in pain and I take his time of weakness to punch his jaw. That should take care of things.
"Leave me alone. Understand?" I threaten the rest of the gang.
Instead of waiting for their answer I run off towards the town square where I know Louis will be. The jail is right around the block believe it or not. I know, brilliant idea to put a jail right in the middle of the freaking town, right?
Slowing down to a jog I creep along the wall of the courthouse in the square garden. Pulling down my hood, I walk across the street towards the jail trying to blend in with the sea of people.
I make it to the jail, slipping inside the doors. Guards are everywhere inside and I panick. I look around and sigh a breath of relief when I find an administrative office. I walk inside.
"Hello, how may I help you today?" A petite woman asks me from behind an office desk.
"Uh yeah, I'd like to talk to an inmate please?" I question nervously.
"Certainly, name?"
"Louis Tomlinson."
She types in the name on a large three screen desktop and clicks her tongue when she finds a result.
"Ah, here we go. Mr. Tomlinson has been with us for a few days now but he is under strict surveillance. I'm afraid you can only talk to him over the phone," she says.
"Alright, thank you," I tell her.
She nods and tells me the way to get to the booth to call Louis. She says she'll ring a guard to bring him down. I hope he'll be happy to see me. On my way to the booth I look around for anything that will help free my Louis but find nothing. I remember something I saw on TV once. A Bobby pin.
He could pick the lock with a pin!
What if that doesn't really work? It's worth a shot. I finally arrive at the booth and sit down on a stool. Finally, Louis is brought in by two guards. He's dressed in prison orange, hair scruffy and unkept. But he still manages to look damn sexy.
He sits down across from me on the other side of the large glass separating us. He picks up the phone on the wall and I mirror him. My face lights up at his voice.
"Hi baby, you came back for me eh?" Louis chuckles softly, eyes sparkling.
"I promised didn't I? Listen Lou, I have a way to get you out."
"Great, let's see it," he grins expectantly.
He looks confused as I reach up and take a Bobby pin out of my hair and slide it under the glass. He pulls it off the table and inspects it.
"Really Jess?"
"Hey, you never know until you try it," I offer.
"Jess I really doubt-" he whines.
"You should be thanking me! I've been worried sick about you! I even had to go through these perverts in the alley to get to you!" I rant.
"You've been worried about me?" He asks, his voice squeaking.
"Of course! I miss you Louis," I say.
"Oh baby," he coos. "I swear, as soon as I'm free I'll hold you in my arms forever and never let go."
I don't realize I'm crying until I feel hot tears on my cheeks.
"Every moment I'm in this cell, I'm not doing my job. And that's protecting you Jess. "
My heart flutters at his confession. I wipe my eyes and collect myself.
"See you soon Louis."
"Soon babe, soon."
I hang up and blow him a kiss, which he catches and places on his lips. He winks before the guards grab his arms once more and haul him away. I walk out of the county jail and down the long road to the shack.
