When you climbed out of the car with Polly, you felt your heart sink to your feet. She'd brought you along to talk some sense into Michael. To see if you could convince him to tell the truth about his accused betrayal. The two of you had been close. More than close. You'd had a rather intimate relationship and you had hoped he'd propose one day. Clearly that wasn't going to happen now.

"This is Gina Gray. My wife. The captain married us on board." Polly glanced back at you before turning back to her son. Michael hadn't even seemed to notice you, but his new wife, Gina, certainly had. The look she gave you was far too sweet to be sincere. You could see the venom and smugness behind the smile on her red painted lips.

You had tuned out the conversation, only coming to it when Michael announced that he and Gina were leaving. He passed right by you. He didn't even acknowledge your presence. To say you were hurt was a major understatement. You were heartbroken. It was as if your entire reason for remaining rooted to the ground had disappeared. And then, just like that, he and Gina were gone.

"Y/N?" Polly questioned. You turned to her, fighting back tears. Without a word you climbed back into the car, slamming the door. The two eldest members of the Shelby family held a silent conversation between. They both agreed that Michael had royally screwed up. There was no way they were going to accept Gina as his wife. Not when they loved you so much. They had expected you to be part of the family.

"What the fuck just happened, Pol?" you asked when she got back in the car with you. She turned so she could look directly at you. "Look at me, Y/N." You didn't want to, but you would never dream of ignoring Polly Gray. "It doesn't matter what happened. What matters is what's going to happen next. Tomorrow, you're coming with me to the Garrison. We'll be meeting Michael there with Tommy and Arthur. You are going to tell Michael what you told me and that will be that."

You sniffled but nodded. "I suppose you're right. Thanks, Pol." She gave you a smile before facing forward and starting up the car. Your mind raced the entire drive home. What had happened these last couple of months between the last time you'd been with Michael and now?

The next day, you were already at the Garrison with Polly when Tommy and Arthur arrived. "Guns behind the bar. In case emotions run high," Polly instructed. Arthur emptied the bullets from his gun before setting it on the table in front of him then Tommy placed his own weapon on the bar.

"You alright, Y/N?" he asked you. You nodded. "Yeah. Just wasn't expecting that kind of reunion yesterday." Before Tommy could say more, Polly opened the door, allowing Michael to enter the tavern. You almost smiled at him, but then Gina came in right behind him. One glance at Tommy and you knew he was not happy. This was family business after all and you had permission to be there. She didn't.

Once again, you zoned out when Tommy started talking. Your eyes were glued on Michael. He reached his left hand up to grip Gina's. Polly reached over and gently grasped your hand and you were brought back to the conversation. "Gina's pregnant. You're going to be a grandmother," Michael said, looking at his mother. At that, you could finally be silent no longer.

"I can't believe this. If I knew I meant so little to you, I never would have slept with you in the first place. Polly was already going to be a grandmother!" you cried as you shot to your feet. The room went completely silent and still. Everyone looked at you with wide eyes except Polly. She, of course, had already known. She knew before you did.

Michael stared at you as if only just realizing you were there. "What?" he asked. You rolled your eyes. "I'm pregnant, Michael. Congratulations, it's a Shelby record. Knocking up two women at the same time." Michael's gaze shifted between your face and your stomach for a second. Gina tightened her grip on his shoulder as she leaned down and whispered something. Michael shook his head but met your eyes again and said, "It can't be mine," he said with almost no emotion at all. You scoffed, ready to surge forward and slap him or Gina, whoever you could reach first. Arthur's hand came to your shoulder to stop you and you looked to the floor.

"You know," you began softly, "I used to think you were the best of the Shelby men. I really did. But now I see you're even more cold and unfeeling than they say Thomas is. Go to hell, Michael Gray. Go to hell and rot there." You turned to Polly. "I'll get a taxi." With that, you stormed from the Garrison, fighting back tears. You weren't going to give Michael the satisfaction of seeing you cry.
