(There's a bit of Bella-bashing in this.)

"You can't be serious," Bella seethed when you and Edward returned downstairs after your conversation with Carlisle. Edward arched a brow. Clearly she'd been listening in on your talk. "And why not? They are my family, Bella." You wanted to say something so badly, but you knew she and Edward needed to get it all out in the open if you and he were going to stay.

While Edward had been happy to be with you, even conforming to your life style after countless months of agonizing over it, he still missed his family. You had been with the Volturi for a millennium. Edward hadn't had nearly that long with his family. So together you decided to return to Forks if Carlisle allowed it.

"You're kidding me, right?! You've become the same as them," she protested angling her head in your direction, "You eat people." You rolled your eyes and couldn't stay quite any longer. "Are you done? I came because Edward wanted to, but believe me when I say that I will NOT take kindly to you talking poorly about MY family, Miss Swan. I am no more a monster than you are and perhaps even less so. Now I don't wish to cause Carlisle or Esme any more grief so what do you say we forget about this and move passed it?"

Bella glared at you for a moment before speeding from the house. You let out a sigh. "Forgive me, Carlisle. I did not mean to bring so much trouble." Carlisle smiled at you. "You didn't. Bella hasn't...adjusted to the life as well as we had hoped. You are more than welcome here. It will be nice to have our family under one roof again. We'll figure out the details as we go."

*short time skip*

Life with the Cullens was pretty peaceful. Well, if you don't count Hurricane Alice helping with wedding plans. While she wasn't particularly as fond of you as the others, she was sweet enough and you hoped to form a bond with her one day. She was going to be your sister-in-law after all. She seemed pleased when you asked her for her assistance. All-in-all, you were happy. There was just one tiny little hiccup in your pre-marital bliss. Bella Swan.

You tried your hardest. Really you had. You didn't want there to be any animosity between you clouding your wedding or the Cullen house. But Bella wasn't budging in her pure hatred of you. You didn't need Jasper to tell what she was feeling and you knew you weren't the only one who could see through the false smiles and fake words of friendship. She absolutely loathed you.

"She will get over it," Edward told you one evening as you lay in bed. You played with his fingers and sighed before snuggling closer to him. "I hope so. I really don't need her attitude." Edward chuckled, but suddenly grew serious. You weren't worried as this was normal for him. The man always seemed to have something on his mind.

"It's hard not to when you can read other people's thoughts," he commented, earning a glare from you. You hated when he read your mind though you knew he couldn't always help it. "I regret pulling Bella into this life. Even before I turned her. I was just so...intoxicated by her. I'm sorry you're having to deal with the consequences of my actions." You silenced him with a kiss.

"Shut up. If not for her I probably wouldn't have met you for another millennia, if at all. I may not like her, but she is the reason you came to Volterra in the first place." Edward gave you that crooked smile of his that you loved and pulled you in for another kiss. You couldn't wait to marry this man. If you had known then what was going to happen, you might not have been so eager for the wedding day.

As far as weddings go, this one was tame. You'd been to several in Volterra and of course the Volturi never do anything by halves. But Alice was still a force to be reckoned with as she tried to make sure everything was perfect. You were getting ready when Bella entered the room. You smiled at her as best you could, but her eyes glared daggers at you.
