"I've waited long enough," Naruto said as he closed the door of our room. It felt as if I've been gone for a long time with the way he was acting. "Tell me everything. I want to know what's going on, otherwise I don't think I can keep supporting your decisions."
"You don't think you can support my decisions?" I breathed out a laugh. "Now that's funny. But fine, you basically know everything anyways. Nothing much changed," I lied. A lot of things have changed over the weekend. "Although, there's this thing with Kiba,.."
"What about him? Didn't he apologise to you ages ago?"
"He did, but then before we went on the trip, he talked with Itachi and did some moves on him, basically blackmailing him."
There was a look of surprise and disbelief on Naruto's face as he spoke, "Why would he do that?"
"I guess to just get back at me? You know how everyone basically got mad at him on my behalf. I don't think people are talking to him like they used to yet." I shrugged. "It seems like he wants to get Itachi fired. Now," I looked out of the window. "I don't condone violence and violence is never the answer, except for when it is. This might be the time when it is."
"You know you shouldn't, you'll just give him what he wants if you pick a fight," Naruto said. "Why don't you let me handle Kiba for once? The last time it didn't go so well. I'll try talking to him."
"Fine, but if he won't leave Itachi alone, I swear not even you will be able to hold me back."
"Oh look at you, using love language! Who would have thought."
"Yes, punching the lights out of Kiba is my love language." I rolled my eyes.
"That's not what I meant. You saying you'd beat someone up for your boyfriend is your love language." He crossed the room over to my bed, sitting down. "Now, tell me all the details. How was the weekend? How was the side guy?"
"Side guy?"
"Yeah, what else would you call a male side chick?"
"Or you can just call him by his name."
"Oh," Naruto covered his mouth with his hand for a second. "You two are getting along then?"
"We do share Itachi right now, so I suppose you could say we're somewhat getting along." The memories of last night flooded my mind. The way my body felt as it was melting under Itachi's and Shisui's touches, until the moment got ruined by the smoke alarm going off from the burning food on the stove.

The food was beyond the point of saving by the time Itachi got back to the pot and pan and the room was filled with the smoke and Shisui's laugh. I stayed on the couch, looking at how calm Itachi was through it all and before I realised, I was staring at Shisui instead. He was wiping away tears from laughing too hard, his hand on his stomach, when he turned around to look at me. The expression on his face didn't change and for the first time I felt like I understood what Itachi saw in him. The way he was laughing lit up the smoke filled room and I was sure that Itachi stole a few looks Shisui's way too.

Neither of us really mentioned the accident by the time the food we ordered came in. I was surprised at how easy it was to talk to Shisui when neither of us had our guard up. It wasn't uncomfortable at all as we sat there eating. I wasn't sure if what happened during the camping was to blame, because before when we met up, both of us said that there was never going to be anything like this between us, yet we initiated it when Itachi was asleep in the tent. I couldn't remember which one of us did the first move, although it was more likely it was Shisui. I could remember quite clearly what it felt like when we kissed for the first time inside the car, the rain heavily beating against the rooftop. It was so different from Itachi. The stubble on his face felt rough against mine and it was something I hadn't experienced before, but I didn't dislike it either. A simple kiss turned into something more and fully submerged in the moment, he wrapped his hands around my waist, pulling me closer as I ran my fingers through his hair, the curls feeling so different from Itachi's hair. I remember the heavy breathing that followed too, after we finally stopped. But the part where we saw a silhouette in the dark was hazy. The moment I ran after Itachi wasn't clear at all and I couldn't recall what was said. The important thing was that something has shifted that night, but neither I or Shisui were aware of it yet.

The night after that, it wasn't Shisui who woke me up in the middle of the night. It was me who dragged him out of the tent into the car, watching him sleepily rub his eyes. The dark circles were enough of a sign that he was still very tired, just like I was. But even though we both wanted to just go back to sleep, neither of us left. Instead, he put the heating on in the car and we just sat there for a while, looking at the trees in front of us in silence. At first, I just wanted to talk about the previous night and what happened without Itachi being present, but the longer no words came out, the warmer inside of the car got, the less the tension was bearable. It was just a simple exchange of looks, nothing out of the ordinary, but somehow in that moment, we both knew what the other one wanted. And so for the second time, we kissed.
