The Aftermath

light a fire in my eyes

"I-" Julie stutters. 

"Jules, i won't let him hurt you i promise" I say moving closer, she collapses  into my arms and i hold her tight. 

"what if there's nothing you can do Luke" she ask trembling with fear. i've never seen her this scared. 

"Jules, i will go to the ends of the earth for you and i will not stop fighting till your safe in my arms" she smiles at me and hugs me again. Alex and Reggie walk up behind us and join our hug.

"could i get in on this group hug action?" Carrie ask. Julie smiles giantly and pulls her in.  

"im so sorry Julie" we hear from behind us, we all pull away and turn to face Trevor. 

"I don't know what i was thinking, but i see how much they mean to you. They aren't just band. they're family" 

"Bobby, we missed you" I smile. 

"this is just so weird" carrie laughs. 

"i'll agree with that one" Julie says wrapping arms with carrie. 

"This is sweet and all but Ray said he was making pizza for dinner and i wanna help" Reggie states, we all laugh and Julie smiles whole-heartedly which make butterflies churn in my stomach. 

at home

we all get home finally and Julie stops me from going inside. 

"Jules?" she kisses me and instinctively kiss her back. She pulls back and smiles.

"what was that?"

"i had to make sure you were still here" She says 

" i will never ever leave you" i say kissing her softly  on the cheek. 

"Luke i was thinking, now that your back. maybe you could- i don't knw see your parents"

"what?"

"well i mean-'

"no no no Julie, they would never understand"

"but they might-"

"I SAID NO" i yell raising my voice. 

"i'm sorry, i didn't mean to" she says fearfully. she runs up the path and inside. 

"Jules wait" i say chasing after her. 

In her room

i burst through the door and Julie is laying on her bed hugging a pillow tightly. 

"Julie, i'm so sorry"

"i didn't mean to be pushy" she says her voice muffled by the pillow. i sit down, grabbing the pillow and pulling her towards me. She backs away to the other side of the bed. 

"i'm sorry Luke" 

"you don't have anything to be sorry about, I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I-Im just worried about what they would do if they saw me"  she looks up at me and crawls back over to me. i hold her in my arms and kiss the top of her head. 

"could we stay like this for a moment?" she ask nuzzling her head closer to me. 

"i never wanna move" i whisper in her ear. A smile creeps up on her face and she tighten her arms around me. i rest my head against hers and wrap my arms around her waist.  she slowly falls asleep and i look at her. God, this girl is perfect. she's so talented and beautiful and smart and she's all mine. how did i ever get this lucky?
