"Luke your back" julie jumps up from her seat, smiling.
"Yeah, are we gonna practice today or what?" I snip. She looks surprised and kinda hurt that i snapped but i don't care. She doesn't just like him, she loves him. It's all in that song, how could I be so blind?
"Oh okay, i actually have a new song i wanted to show you" i scoff at this, really she wanted to show me her love song to nick. No thank you
"Really?" I say a little too loud, she flinches like she wasn't expecting me to yell.
"Luke whats wrong?"
"WHAT'S WRONG? I saw your love song to Nick."
"What?"
"Yeah i know, you don't have to hide it" i say furious
"Luke you don't understand"
"Julie don't, Just don't" i storm back out of there
Julie's POV
I follow after Luke and he stops in front of the garage.
"Luke you don't understand"
"I think i do" he snaps staring at the ground
"Just before you disappear will you wait a moment and let me explain." i plead.
"Fine" he says walking back into the garage.Both Alex and Reggie look at me for confirmation
I nod at them and they sit Luke down. I run upstairs quickly and grab the sheets of music.
I walk back into the garage and sit at the piano. I start to play the cords softly and sing the lyrics.
We say we're friends
We play pretend

I sing as I watch Reggie and Alex force Luke over to me, he reluctantly sits beside me. I sing one last note and look at him. Teras fills his eyes and he looks down
Perfect harmony
"What do you want me to say Julie? He'll love it?"
"Luke grab the paper" he gives me a confused look but picks it up
"Now read the back out loud" I say confidently. He gives a strange look but starts reading.
I'm writing this down because the whole time I was dancing with Nick, I was thinking of Luke. All I think about is Luke, I can't close my eyes without seeing him. I love Luke and this is how I know how to tell him. I don't know if it's even possible to love someone so much. But I do. I love when I'm around him and hate when I'm not. I love writing music with him and singing with him. I love how when he sings, he gets so into the music and he becomes part of it.
As he reads his emotions go from mad to happy. He looks up at me with a giant smile stretched over his face.
"Do you really think it's about Nick?" I ask sarcastically.
"Julie, I'm so sorry," he says, looking away from me. "I just-"
Before he can say anything else, I pull his face to look at me and lean in . i stop momentarily, what if i can't kiss him. This is my first kiss, what if i don't do it right. He'll know right, he's probably kissed tons of girls. Not tons well. Before I can finish my thoughts, Luke closes the space between us. His hands reach up to the sides of my face and he pulls away. I exhale deeply. He leans back in and gives me another sweet, tender kiss. It's everything I've ever wished for in a first kiss. We both pull back and I look up over the piano. Alex and Reggie are smiling so much that it stretches across their faces.
"Julie," Luke says and I look back at him.
"Yeah?"
" I love you too," he says with a giant beaming smile. I rest my head on his shoulder and he wraps his arms around me, when he does this I feel safe. I feel like there's nothing I can't do when I'm with him. Alex and Reggie step out to give us our moment. We sit there like that for what feels like forever that's until Reggie runs in.
