How could i be in love with Luke, i thought i had this under control but now, i can't stop thinking about him. He's a ghost, I can't be in love with a ghost. If he's even a ghost, I don't even know what he is. I stand up and just run out of the house, I just need some fresh air.
Meanwhile
"Julie?" Luke says as she runs out the door.
"Is everything okay?" ray ask
"I'm sure everything is fine, I'll just go check on her," Luke says, giving a soft grin, standing up and walking towards the door. He runs out there quickly and sees her pacing in front of the garage.
I'm pacing back and forth until I feel a hand on my shoulder. I jump a little but calm down as soon as I realize it's just Luke. i don't think I'll ever get used to that.
"Julie, are you okay?" he says, running his hand across my shoulder. I concentrated on the movement of his hand. Back and forth, back and forth. It's not like i can say what's wrong, he would probably just run and i wouldn't blame him.
"Yeah i am " i say skipping over my words, trying to find my cool.
"Jules whats wrong?" The butterflies in my stomach flutter around when he calls me Jules. I just think it's super cute when he does it.
"Nothing Luke, I just needed some fresh air" I say staring at the ground.
"Julie i know your lying"
"Am not'
"Julie when you lie, you look at the ground" he says pulling my head up.
"How do you know me so well?" i laugh.
"there's that smile i love , so what's bothering you?" he says grabbing my hand and running his thumb over my knuckles.
"Girl stuff" I say giggling, thinking back to that time in my room. I look over at him and he gives me one of his heartthrob perfect smiles. he remembers!
"Are you sure you're okay?" he ask and i take his other hand in mine, maybe i can convince him.
"I'm fine Luke, I promise" I say, we stare at each other until the door flies open. Me and Luke pull our hands away and back up.
"Well what's going on out here?" Reggie says playfully punching Luke in the shoulder
" i was just checking on Julie"
"Hmm" Reggie says, looking between me and Luke. Alex comes out of the house behind Reggie.
"Is everything okay?" Alex ask looking at me for conformation.
"Yup, i just needed some fresh air" i say "do y'all wanna go rehearse some songs?"
"Yes, let's go," Luke says, jumping up and running to the garage. Me, Reggie, and Alex laugh at his actions and follow after him.
In the garage
"So what song do we wanna work on?" Luke says, pulling out his journal. We all strug and he scoffs
" guys we played the Orpheum last night, where's that energy?" Luke ask jumping onto the couch
"What- what are we?" Alex asks, pacing around the room.
"We're not sure" i answer
"Well how do we know that we couldn't always touch you?" Alex points out
"We can't, i mean we never could" Luke says
"How do y'all even-"
"Alex c'mon we know" Reggie says, smirking at Luke.
"Does it matter, we're here now and we still have each other, we still have our music. We still get to play with Julie and that's all we wanted guys"
"but how? it makes no sense. you know when i said i needed a handbook for being a ghost or a instruction pamplet. i really need it now" Alex says pacing around the garage.
"Yeah you're right about that" i say. i just wish i knew what's happening. right then Flynn burst through the door.
"Good Morning Jules and the boys" she says smiling then she thinks about what she just said.
"Woah woah, i can see them" she yells "they didn't cross over, how can i see them?" she says and keeps talking faster.
"Flynn calm down" i say walking over to her and closing the door behind her.
"But how?" she rambles out.
"We have no idea either. But watch this" i say and walk over to Luke. I raise my hand for a high five and he returns the gesture. I look over at Flynn and her jaw is dropped so far. She walks over to Reggie and touches his arm.
"YOU CAN TOUCH THEM TOO" she screams
"Oh my goodness flynn, quieter. My dad will hear"
"Has your dad?" she looks at me
"Yes, we just had breakfast"
"This is crazy," she says pacing.
" I think we should talk about this somewhere more private," I say , grabbing flynns arm and gesturing for the boys to follow me. I step inside the house and look around. No ones here, which means my dad and Carlos left for the day. I wave them all in, we walk upstairs and into my room. I close the door and lock it.
