Anyways, demons amirite?]

Genuine anger rolled off of Tanjiro as we wandered through the town. I was a few feet behind him (something he had enacted upon to hide his expression, or so I assume) but his fists clenched and his aura was bright. Maybe he doesn't quite understand that I can sense emotions. Not that it'd change much, I suppose. Tanjiro was quite the open book.

Still, I wandered behind him unaware of the source of his anger but I was also unsure if I should ask. Was it my place? Were we good enough friends?

I hummed in thought, dipping my chin into my uniform. It went unnoticed by my friend, who was nearly stomping his way through town.

Before I could make a decision, however, the familiar cawing of crows sounded out before two birds swooped down towards us. I lifted my arm, allowing Ocha to land there while Tanjiro's crow landed on his shoulder and seemed to knock him from his thoughts. I continued a few paces forward as his bird spoke perfect words.

"Next up, Asakusa, Tokyo!" He practically cheered, but I felt my heart drop, "Rumors of a demon lurking there!"

"We're heading to our next mission already?!" Tanjiro questioned, eyes wide with surprise but his brow furrowed in worry.

I sent a cautious glance towards my crow, "Like... the city?"

Ocha hopped on my arm, cawing loudly as he spoke, "Yes, yes! Off to Asakusa! Your next mission!"

"H-Hold on a minute," Tanjiro softly spoke, but his crow began angrily flapping his wings.

"No can do!" It declared as my friend leaned away to get from his seemingly crazy bird.

The two bickered for a moment, but I was too busy sitting and worrying to truly notice. Of course, the city was gonna end up being our next mission. With my luck, why wouldn't it be.

A groan escaped my throat.

*~-~*

The aura of irritation had shifted, it seemed. My arms were now ramrod-straight by my sides, anxiously clenching and unclenching my fists. My gaze was directed straight forward, brow taut a bit as my pace was quicker than intended.

Why the city? Of all places in Japan - why the city?! My least favorite place. I hate the city. Daichi would often go and I'd always refuse to join him. Yet here I was, on my second mission as a demon slayer and, of course, Asakusa, Tokyo was our destination.
