Lots of dialogue today ladies, gents, and enby... frequents. I'll add the gif later, it's 1 AM and I'm on my phone. I'm also only posting this to resist the urge of rewriting the first couple chapters cause I reread them and by god do they have some shit lines and details that I've forgotten about.

At about 2 in the morning, maybe earlier or later I'm not entirely sure, I could hear footsteps in the hall.

Throughout the night, I'd done a combination of reading, writing, and non-harmful or exertive training. When I got bored with one, I'd move on to the next to keep myself occupied and busy as sleep evaded me. I was never one to just sit in bed and I knew I wouldn't sleep, so I'd rather be productive.

I'd already finished one book from the shelf and was working on the next between writing journal entries, sketching, and basic training like meditation and working on my aura sight. This was the first time I'd heard any sounds besides my soft ones all night (besides the initial struggle of the three boys to calm their arguing and sleep).

I glanced up from my book and watched through the door as the first of four auras moved. Nezuko was in fact in the room with the boys as well but now moved through the room. Her aura was always very easy to spot - being that of a demon. She moved down the hall and towards my room and I soon spotted a second aura briskly following. Warm and bright and familiar.

Tanjiro let out a hushed whisper that I couldn't make out, but it seemed panicked and I assumed he was trying to get his sister to stop. But determination seemed to drive her and she continued. Eventually, she was behind my door, and hardly a second later, it slid open a few inches.

I watched with light curiosity, as nothing appeared at first besides the two auras now sitting behind the door. Until finally, the top of a head poked out and looked into my room. Nezuko's pale pink eyes looked in and her dark hair fell to the side, not exactly hiding her much.

"Hello, Nezuko," I greeted softly to try not to wake the rest of the household. As soon as I spoke, a second head poked in, and Tanjiro's garnet eyes were paired with his sister's. The Kamado siblings did look alike despite their differing hair and eye colors.

The demon sister was the first to come in, humming happily as her small form rushed into the room and towards me. Her long hair flowed with her dark haori and kimono until she tossed herself forward and slid across the ground, landing neatly in front of me and plopping her head into my lap.

I smiled at the display of affection - she was growing on me, honestly. The both of them had. I brushed my hand over her hair as she turned onto her back and looked up at me with a pleased hum.

"Sorry," Tanjiro apologized, stepping into the doorway fully with a sheepish smile, "I tried to get her to wait but she was excited to see you. I thought you'd be asleep."

I shook my head, despite it being obvious that I was awake. Tanjiro seemed to loiter by the door for a second, gazing away until I realized that there was a nervous yellow and pink mix eating at the core of his aura.

"You can come in," I reassured, "Should probably close the door. I don't wanna wake the others."

He blinked in realization before smiling again and doing as I had recommended, sliding the door shut before wandering towards my little nook by the wall and sitting down to the side. I didn't miss how he cast a glance toward my outstretched left leg - it didn't hurt, but it was becoming more annoying than anything, honestly.
