One hand clutching her phone and the other clenched into a fist, she raised her fist and gave the door in front of her three knocks. Eva counted the seconds it took Chris to open the door-- 1..4..6..7..10..14...22, she counted in her head.
The door swung open to reveal Chris on the other side, a blank expression on his face as he stared at Eva. His eyes left a burning sensation as they trailed from her mouth to the curves of her body until they finally made their way back to her lips and then to her eyes.
A shiver crawled up her spine as she stepped in, not daring to get any closer to him. "Hei," she managed to get out as she walked deeper into his home. Her back facing him, Chris replied with a greeting as he shut the door and quickly crossed the steps it took to reach his kitchen.
Grabbing a water bottle from the fridge, he asked, "You thirsty?" He poked his head out, watching Eva as he waited for her response.
"Yeah," she replied from the living room.
Snatching another bottle from the fridge, he walked to Eva and handed her the bottle, their fingers gently grazing. She murmured thanks before he spoke up. "So, where do we start?" he asked, taking a seat so close to Eva their knees were touching.
Eva couldn't place her finger on what it was, but she could tell there was something else in the air tonight. For starters, he was a bit too close to her. On days like this where she'd come over, they'd go straight to his room and start working on math. Sure they'd get distracted along the way but it always started with math, nothing else.
"Wherever you want," a challenging smirk spread across her lips.
Chris mirrored her smirk and inched closer to her, his mouth close to her ear. "Let's play a game," he murmured as he flicked his tongue across his lower lip.
She tried to ignore the sensation that shot through her core and scoffed in response, "A game? I thought you wanted my help." In fact, Eva was down for a game but she wouldn't let him know that. Chris was one of her weaknesses -- when it came to sex that is. She was aware of that weakness but would never say it aloud out of fear of how others would interpret it. While she knew the truth behind her words and feelings, others would take those words and twist them. Not to mention this "relationship" was a temporary thing. He'd be graduating in a few months and then they'd go off their separate ways, never having to see each other again.
Chris shrugged his shoulders as he leaned back, "I don't really need help since this week's topic was easy." His eyes twinkled with mischief as he continued, "I was thinking we'd play truth or dare, but with a twist. Every time either one of us declines to do the truth or dare we have to take off one piece of clothing."
Eva's eyes slightly widened at hearing Chris's proposal of a game, "Seriously? That's your idea of a game? You just want to see me naked," Eva glared at him but on the inside, butterflies danced in her stomach.
"Maybe I do," he grinned and rose from the couch, one hand outstretched for Eva to take. "You in?"
Eva had already decided she'd play the game, but it didn't hurt to make Chris wait.
"Fineee," she took his outstretched hand as he guided her to his bedroom.
Once inside his room, Chris closed the door behind them while Eva occupied herself by looking around. His room looked like it always did: nice, clean, and tidy. He was oddly clean for a guy and she always found it funny how different their rooms were.
At the sound of his bed creaking, Eva turned around to find him sprawled on the bed, his arms behind his head and his legs spread open. He patted the empty space next to him, motioning for her to get on.
