Another upload in just 3 days? No way.

Well, I'm trying to get to 300 views... And because I love you guys and this story and yeah.

Anyway I think this should be a pretty interesting chapter. Let me know what you think :)

So Riley and I went to the beach as planned, but without Hayden; despite the fact that I never actually got to ask him.

I tried to enjoy myself, I really did, but Hayden was always in the back of my head. The constant worrying got so much later that night that I actually felt sick in the stomach. I couldn’t shake the picture of his face from my head – he looked completely broken. Not the bruises, just the look in his eyes.

We arrive home later in the afternoon. The house is stinking hot with no way to cool it down. Sleeping is going to be interesting tonight...

My phone buzzes next to me as I’m cooking dinner for the boys.

Hayden: Hey beautiful

I snatch up my phone. My heart thuds against my chest and my fingers tap rapidly on the screen.

Me: Hey! Are you okay?? He didn’t hurt you again after I left did he?!

Him: No, I’m fine. Don’t worry about me, promise?

Me: Of course I’m going to worry.

Him: As stubborn as ever, I see

Me: I won’t believe you’re okay until I see you

Him: Meet me at the harbour after school on Monday

Me: I have to wait until Monday??

Him: I can’t help it, I’m sorry

I sigh, placing my hands on the kitchen bench and letting my head drop forward. It was Saturday. Monday was only two days away yet it feels like two months.

Me: I wish you were here with me, it hurts.

Him: I know, baby.

Him: Is there any way you can get someone to look after the boys? I want to take you somewhere.

Me: Probably. You know I hate surprises tho

Him: Bc you’re a control freak. Just trust me.

Me: I do

Him: I’ll talk to you later gorgeous x

Me: Okay x

I lock my phone and return back to cooking. I’d give anything to have him here right now, annoying me and distracting me whilst I’m trying to cook. I’d even like to see that cocky smile of his when he knows he’s turned me on.

I knew as soon as I woke up Sunday morning and heard Riley talking to someone that something bad was going on.

I bolt out of bed, running into the living room. My hands shake with anticipation. Riley is on the floor sitting in front of two police officers. I don’t know whether to be relieved or worried. On one hand, at least they’re just police officers, not a burglar. But on the other hand... What the fuck are they doing here?

“Riley! What did I say about opening the door without me?” I hiss at Riley. Usually he waits for me, but he loves policeman – his favourite show being COPS – and I’m sure he couldn’t wait to let them in.
