STATUS Chapter Five
RAFAEL
"So what do you think about living on your own?" Napatingin ako kay dad. What is he talking about? Is he sending me away? "I don't need it Dad, I'm completely fine. I'm not like those other teenagers who prefer to live alone so that they can do what they want to do without their parents looking"
"That's exactly the point, you act like a fully grown man. It's not like I'm not proud or anything, it's just that, I think you should enjoy your teenage years." Napairap nalang ako sakanila "Your dad is right. You'll be eighteen after a few months, you should enjoy. And we have a friend who sells great and affordable condominiums. You'll like it in there"
"Are you advertising or what?" Dad looked at me as if he was saying 'are you sure you want to disobey me'.
"Just take a look at the place, if you still don't like it then, we wont force you" Mariin akong napapikit ang nag isip.
Hindi naman ako lilipat diba? Titignan ko lang naman and besides alam ko na kahit umayaw ako ay pipilitin at pipilitin nila ako "Fine, I will just look..." Nagliwanag naman ang mukha nila "But, dont get your hopes up. Remember, no one can change Rafael Attkinson's mind" Ngumiti lang sila ngunit kaagad ring napawi nung pumasok si Claire.
Dad's arms are crossed while looking at her "Anong oras na Claire? Uwian ba ngayon ng disenteng babae?"
"We had a group project, and I need to contribute" Sabay sabay na nag taasan ang kilay namin. Claire? Contributing to a project? That's new.
"Stop looking at me like that, I'm telling the truth" Dad then sighed "You better be, anyway Angelo. Here's your card. Walang limits yan. Use it wisely"
"Where's mine?" Kunot noong tanong ni Claire.
"When you pass your exam, maybe I'll think about it" Nakasimangot na umakyat si Claire at palihim naman akong natawa. It's unlikely for me to say this but, I find my sister adorable.
Matapos ang kuwentuhan ay tumayo na ako para pumasok sa kwarto "Don't forget to visit the place I told you" Tumango lang ako at nag madaling umakyat tungo sa kwarto. I'm afraid I have no choice.
At yun nga ang ginawa ko kinabukasan. I'm standing beside the manager who is currently showing me the insides of the condo. It wasn't bad but I have no plans to rent or even bought this one.
The manager was still talking when we got out but I didn't listen. My eyes are fixed on the familiar figure that walked past us. "That guy? Does he live here?" I asked. "Yes sir, he's the owner's son" I continued looking at Trouble as he entered his condo.
"Are you taking the room sir?"
"Yes" I said unconsciously.
"Well then let's proceed to billing" Tumango lang ako at inilabas ang cheque ni Dad. "Thank you sir, you can move anytime you want" I signed some documents and settled everything.
For a second thought, why did I said yes? Did I said yes because I saw Trouble?
Dad was so excited when I told him that I will be moving out, when I got home, everything was already packed.
"Get ready, itatakwil kana nila" Biglang sulpot ni Claire sa likod ko "Shut up" I glared at her and she just laughed and went to the kitchen, kung saan naroon ang pinaka-mamahal nyang ice cream. Too bad, I already ate it.
I smirked and counted to 3.

"Kuyaaaa!" Kaagad na nagtatakbo si Claire papunta sakin at sinabututan ako "Walangya ka!"
"Aray ano ba! Tigil na!" Inangat ko sya sa ire at tinapon sa sofa "Claire are you alright?" Alalang tanong ni Dad sakanya. Andito pala sila?
Sinamaan naman ako ng tingin ni Papa. Pampered si Claire, hindi lang halata "Ano ba yan! Kayong mga bata kayo! Ikaw bakit hindi kapa umaalis?"
"Dad naman, pinapalayas nyo naba ako" Paawang sabi ko at kaagad namang humagalpak ng tawa si Claire "You look like shit man. Sadboy na you?" I glared at her.
"I was thinking of buying you another Ice cream pero wag nalang" She appeared in front of me with her puppy eyes "Kuya? Did you know?"
Tumaas ang kilay ko "What?"
"I love you" Adorable. Tumikhim muna ako bago nagsalita "Fine, I'll buy you ice cream pero bukas na"
"Tsk, where's our I love you?" Dad said while pouting. Habang si Papa naman ay nag aalangang ngumuso dahil narin sa pag pupumilit ni Dad "Stop it Papa, it's creepy"
"Yeah I'm getting goosebumps" nagtawanan kami ni Dad pati si Claire while Papa is just glaring at us.
"My family is adorable" Dad said while smirking.
"Yeah I agree, siguro hindi nalang ako tutuloy-"
Napatigil ako sa pag sasalita ng mabilis na nagbago ang expression ni Dad. "Looks like you don't have any choice but to know your way out"
"Mean" Umirap ako bago tuluyang kinuha ang mga gamit ko. Ewan ko ba kung bakit excited sila na umalis ako. Ano bang meron sa condo nayun?
When I arrived, I immediately parked my car perfectly so that it wouldn't be touched by any other person.
I was walking on the hallways when I saw Trouble looking at me as if he was asking why am I here. Seconds after staring at each other, he started walking towards me. He's expression is the same as usual. Straight face, chest out and stomach in. He's like a soldier.
I thought he would greet me or anything but I was wrong, he just walked past me.
Nag expect ako? Bago yun ah.
I came back to my senses and continued walking to my condo but I can't forget how Trouble walked past me as if I was just a stranger to him.
I want him to notice me.
Para akong baliw na humagalpak ng tawa pag pasok ko sa condo. "Seriously? I want him to notice me? Fuck!" Tawa ko pa. Bumalik ako sa pagiging seryoso ng mapagtanto ko kung gaano ako ka tanga. "I need treatment"
After minutes of whining around I finaly behaved myself and went outside to eat. It's Saturday afternoon and I'm stuck at my room. Not that I'm complaining, it's just that my new gaming set hasn't arrive. I may be a study freak but I'm also addicted in many games.
It's kinda boring without them.
"What do you want to order sir?" A female waitress approached me.
"I would like to order some black coffee, perfectly brewed and some velvet cake with 40 percent sugar" The waitress blink a couple of times before listing my orders.
After a couple of minutes my order was served. While I was eating the cake I scrolled to the school's facebook page. News and gossips was posted in it. I came across a post. It is posted an hour ago and it's about the STATUS Article.
"It's moved?" I read the article and after a while I finished and went to the mall. I shopped everything I like before heading home.
6 pm at malapit ng bumigay ang katawan ko. Why did I shop this much? Now I'm starting to regret it.
"So soft" I groaned as I lay myself on the bed. I feel like I could sleep any minute now.
I closed my eyes because my eyelids became heavy but before I could fall asleep my phone rang. Seriously?
Inis akong bumangon at tinignan kong sino yun. It was an unknown number. "Hello?" I said with a drowsy voice.
"Sorry for the interruption but a friend of yours got drunk and we dont know who to contact. He was with a girl and she was quite in a hurry. Binilin nya lang sakin na tawagan po kayo"
