"I know..." I exhale deeply, running my fingers through my curls. I can't believe I let her slip through my fingers like that... I'm such an idiot... "But there's not much I could've done, really. She... had to go home. And I wasn't gonna force her to stay, I'm not about that..."
"Yeah, I get that." Ayotunde nodded, eyebrows knit in concern and sympathy.
"I just..." I sigh, a bit frustrated, surveying the area around me, as if that could in some way help. "I... don't know what to do from here..."
"What if..." Or concentrates, nose scrunched. "We ask about her? Around?"
"Mmm..." I shake my head slightly. "I don't know if that'd actually do anything. Spreading news by mouth... Isn't always accurate... Or efficient..."
"Social media?" Or asks, one eyebrow raised.
"I don't know... I don't have much of a following..."
"But you know who does?" He raises an eyebrow & I wait. "Ayotunde!"
"Mmm... I don't know... Ayo's more... Rock band popular, ya know?"
Ayo nods their head slightly. "That's true... The Enby Envies aren't exactly front-liners..."
I frown at them. "Oh, come on. I think you're pretty good."
They smile slightly. "Yeah... But you're kinda biased, &... we're pretty niche..."
"Ok... So who should we ask then?" I put my finger on my chin, contemplating, as Or brightens up suddenly.
"What about... one of... the Aston twins?" He raises an eyebrow, a grin across his face.
"No."
