Monika stood there in the stillness, keeping her composure while she kept her eyes closed, before opening to speak. Kathryn's heart raced out of her chest, she fidgeted with her fingers, not sure what was going to happen. "Kathryn, please explain yourself," Monika asked her, her voice became professional within every spoken word. Monika wasn't exactly good with dealing with people, for she had always stayed to herself until she created the Literature club. However, Monika never thought she would have to deal with a conflict. Although, compared to conflict between people, this situation was different, for she knew how to handle this one. Kathryn, who heard Monika's question, took a deep breath and answered in a sincere voice, "I'm sorry, I just wanted to help and when the arguing got louder, I used code to solve it,".
"Code? Wait, are you-"
"Yes, and I know where I got it from,"
"How?!! As far as I know, only I can use code and the only one, who is self-aware!!"
"Well, when I was five years old, I was kidnapped by a pale ivory older man, who had raven black pompadour hair and dark brown eyes. He experimented on me for thirteen years while everyone else got to go earlier than me within the first few months that we were there,"
Monika paused, getting flashbacks of a young girl with light blonde hair and bright blue eyes that looked in her direction. To the sudden memory of being pushed into a machine that gave her the exact self-aware knowledge and coding skills that she has now.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Though, funny enough, I remember seeing some girl, who looked just like you,".
"Yeah, I remember seeing a girl with the same appearance as you you were even in my house too,"
"What? Are you sure?"
"Yeah, Like we were sisters. You don't think?"
Monika violently shook her head in denial, not wanting to think about it. Kathryn tried to follow to explain, but the door shut in her face before she could. Sighing, Kathryn exited the school building, her back against the brick wall of the school building. Tears blurred her eyes, pouring down her face, hugging her knees while she laid her head down on her arms. Crying, she stayed still in that position, letting her tears out as she sat down crying.
In the distance, she heard laughter coming from two guys, who were at a nearby swimming pool that the university-owned. Kathryn looked up, only to see the same warm ivory guy with short, yet dark brown hair, and round, dark brown eyes, sitting on the brim of the swimming pool.
Next to him was a dude with porcelain skin, meadow green eyes that matched well with his dark brown, slicked back, side-parted hair. The both of them laughed at their inside jokes as Kathryn rose from the school ground, making her way over to the pool. Kathryn checked her bag for her swimsuit, seeing her pink one-piece swimsuit in the same place that she packed it this morning. Wiping her tears, she put a smile on her face from laughing at their jokes quietly without the two of them noticing.
Arriving at the swimming pool, the two guys turned to Kathryn, who sat her bag down a foot away from theirs. Kathryn entered the nearby bathroom, then came back out within one quick change. Kathryn changed into a hot pink one-piece bathing suit, without her hair styled in her signature waterfall hairstyle. After changing into her pink swimsuit, she cannon-balled into the pool with caution as the two watched her get in the pool. Kathryn noticed their staring at her, waving her towards them. "Hi, I'm Kathryn, and you two are?" she introduced herself, pointing her finger at the both of them.
"I'm Sebastiano, but you can call me, Seb for short and this is Dave, he's a small bean," Sebastiano smiled, pointing to himself first, then to Dave after waving.
Dave, the dude with the porcelain skin, meadow green eyes, and dark brown, slicked back, side-parted hair, became embarrassed. Covering his head with his hands for a moment, he gave Seb a playful punch, chuckling as Seb leaned away from him. Kathryn laughed at their antics, watching Seb and Dave both fall in the pool.
"No fair, I could have introduced myself, now I'm mad," Dave stated with a playful voice.
"Yes, but you weren't saying anything, Dave," Seb replied with a smile. Kathryn watched as the two talked to each other in the swimming pool that they were in. "Ok, fine," Dave responded, turning away from him with a playful smirk, only to turn back. Kathryn laughed a little, then had an idea in the back of her bright mind at the moment.
"Hey, I have an idea, whoever beats me in a swimming contest, by swimming from the entrance side to the other side, determines whoever tries to cheer Dave up," Kathryn suggested.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, why not?"
"Because I don't enter any competition, just not a competitive person,"
"Oh ok," Kathryn replied with a nod, preparing for the contest with Seb. "Wait, who wins what?" Dave asked before Kathryn and Sebastiano started. Kathryn thought for a moment, then came up with an idea as quickly as a student running in the hall to their classroom before being tardy. "Well, if I win, you get a start over, but if Seb wins, you don't get a start over," Kathryn explained to Dave, pointing to herself and Seb. Dave nodded as he watched the both of them swim in the swimming contest.
As the two started, Seb couldn't focus on the contest and swimming, for certain feelings spiraled in his mind. He began to daydream about him and Kathryn sharing a kiss in the pouring rain while he spun her around for a moment. Yet, he snapped back to reality by the sound of a caring male voice repeating his name.
"SEB!!!" The male voice cried out, the cry sounded muffled for Seb was underwater.
Rising from the water catches his breath while climbing onto the rough surface of the pool.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, Kathryn,"
"Are you sure? You can say if you aren't,"
Seb nodded his head while catching his breath again, putting his hands on his knees. Dave and Kathryn became relieved, sighing as their shoulders became relaxed as they dropped to the original place.
After, the three of them grabbed their towels and started to dry themselves off. "So, who do you think won?" Sebastiano asked with a smile, curious to know if Kathryn beat him. Kathryn shrugged her shoulders as she sat down with the towel covering her body on the chair. Dave stood up with confidence, he looked as if he were about to defend something with his life. "I say Kathryn won," Dave stated with the same confidence in his body that caused him to stand up. Kathryn decides not to get involved in this situation, just in case things get out of hand. "Are you sure, Dave, I mean I barely touched the surface?" Sebastiano declared, trying not to start an argument. "No, I say Kathryn wins!!" Dave defended, trying to defend Kathryn's win. Kathryn chuckled with a smile as Dave defended her with a smile, hoping she was impressed. Seb noticed this, but kept quiet, for he didn't want to start an argument on something that he wasn't ready to confess just yet. When Dave spoke on why Kathryn won, he threw a lighter, that he was holding, on accident, burning a bag on accident. "That was your bag, right Seb?" Dave asked, aware of what he just did, but hoping he didn't burn Kathryn's bag. "What are you talking about, my bag's at home," Seb replied, confused by what he meant while watching the flames. "If that's not yours, then whose bag is -" Dave tried to ask, only to be cut off by Kathryn's screaming. "MY BAG!!" Kathryn screamed in horror, placing her hands on her cheeks, opening her mouth in a shocked expression. Dave and Seb turned towards each other, then ran for their lives as Kathryn ran after them.
Arriving home, Seb strolled into their house as casually as possible, declaring, "We're home, Dave burned a bag, and now a girl is after us,". After Dave ran into the house, shutting the door behind him before Kathryn caught up with them. Their roommates turned their heads toward them, confused about the situation, but shrugged it off. Dave sighed in relief, knowing that he was now safe from Kathryn, or at least for the moment.
