Chapter 13: The Laboratory Mission

         Kathryn and Monika woke up to a familiar steel ceiling, she wasn't sure where she was, because her memory became a little foggy after a while. "Welcome Back," Valentino smirked, chuckling a little to himself. Kathryn jumped at the sound of his voice, not sure who it was talking to her. However, the only memory she had still from recent was of Monika. "Monika!! Where's Monika!!" Kathryn asked, calling out her name while shaking the bars. Valentino kept standing over her while she sat back in her cell, stressed out about Monika's well-being. Yet, Valentino walked away while he went back to his office without a care in the world. "You get back here!!" Kathryn screamed as Valentino walked away still. As he did so, Kathryn scanned the area for another way out. Doing so led to Kathryn using her fire to bend the metal to make an opening for an escape, yet the metal wouldn't budge. So, she resorted to another option until she saw some familiar things to her, for across her cell was her old cell. The cell that she was kept captive in when she was five years old when Valentino first took her and her sister, Monika.

      The image of the cell in front of her caused a particular scream to enter her head, one that would haunt her all of her life. Remembered the incident, Kathryn rewatched her little girl self, panicking, anxious, and not sure what to do. Only to push Monika into a certain room leading to a black abyss with hidden codes as she screamed with fear. Watching her sister be locked in the room until a certain amount of time made her heart raced faster, her scream became louder until she snapped back to reality. She leaned back to the wall, trying to take deep breaths to calm herself down until she was alright again. Shaking her head, Kathryn's nerves were starting to relax as her hands started to stop shaking as the screaming in her head disappeared from her mind like a breeze in the wind. Yet, as Kathryn slowly, but surely had herself calm, Monika appeared in the corner of Kathryn's eye. "Monika? Monika!!" Kathryn exclaimed, relieved to know Monika was found, seeming to be okay from the distance. Yet, the closer Monika got the more it seemed that she was just passed out. Kathryn's heart palpated while Monika was sent to the cell next to her.

        Meanwhile Rose knew that she needed to rescue Kathryn and Monika, with this feeling, she packed for a long journey ahead. Prepared to go on the long journey, she exited out of her house, holding a huge map of Zadia in her hands. However, walking along the path, a hand was placed upon her shoulder, Rose froze up, turning around with a grasp of her scythe in hand. "Huh? Who's there? Show yourself!! I-oh, it's just you, my bad," Rose told the mysterious figure in front of her. The mysterious figure backed up, afraid of Rose's scythe, not wanting to be hurt by her half-sister. "Yeah, it's just me, Rose, I promise," Mocha confirmed, lowering her arms, knowing it was safe now.

"Well, yes I know that now, but don't ever sneak up like that on me again, ok? I don't want to hurt you,"

"Noted, but may I ask, where are you going?"

"On a trip,"

"To where?"

"None-ya"

"Oh c'mon, please tell me, I could be of use,"

"You sure? It could be dangerous and I'm not taking the risk, Mocha,'

Rose rolled her eyes, walking faster speed, trying to get away from Mocha to say that she is leaving without her. Yet, Mocha wasn't giving up that easily, for like Rose, she had the same determination as her. A quality shared among the Yami side of the Shay family that became lost throughout time.

"Alright fine, but at least say you'll be safe,"

Rose nodded her head as she continued to head off into the distance of the beautiful starry night.

Valentino, preparing to interrogate the twin sisters, had his guards take someone to make them talk. Two people that both Monika and Kathryn care for dearly in their special kind of way.

"Your majesty, we have the people you requested for," The night guard told King Valentino, standing in a saluting position. "Good, bring those people in and the twins as well," King Valentino grinned from ear to ear. "Yes, your majesty," The night guard replied, running to go and take action on his new order of duty. Valentino chuckled, holding a picture of a book that King Jarvis and Queen Daleyza used to rule the kingdom of Zadia. "Soon, my sweet, we'll be together, one day, one day," Valentino stated out loud, conversing with the photo, still grinning from ear to ear. As minutes passed, Kathryn and Monika sitting together in interrogation chambers, ready for what Valentino was planning to do. "What do you want, you monster??!!," Kathryn snapped, trying to turn away from him. "Answers, my dear, answers," Valentino answered her, grabbing the tip of her chin, letting go after he answered her. "Well, we will never tell you anything, you monster!!" Kathryn argued, scowling at him. "I thought you might say that, that's why I had my guards take some people you care about. The more silent you are, the more damage caused to them," Valentino responded, snapping to signal the guards to take the blanket off the two people they have taken. One of the people that the guards took was Emily, who struggled hard to get free of the guards' grip on her while they took the other blanket off the next person. The second person revealed, next to Emily, was someone only Kathryn knew, a guy so sweet, she may have blushed at the sight of him. "SEB!!!" Kathryn screamed, trying to run towards him before being blocked off from him. Sebastiano woke up from a deep sleep, looking around, confused about the situation as he also struggled to get free. "Now, let the fun, begin!!" Valentino laughed, rubbing his hands together as the interrogation began.
