Jasmine's POV
I woke up, my hair matted from the tears that had also soaked the pillow. I got up, showered, threw on some clothes and did a quick layer of makeup. I made my way to my 11 year old daughter's room.
I went in and shook her gently on the shoulder to wake her up.
"Aria hon, wake up" she groaned but started to push herself up on her elbows. I told her to get dressed and come downstairs for breakfast. I hurriedly scrambled some eggs and dished them on to two plates and placed them on the dining room table. Aria then came flying down the stairs and into her seat. We ate and discussed what she had on her school timetable today.
As she finished getting dressed, I made her lunch before we put on our shoes and hopped into the car. I dropped her off at school before making my way back home.
When I got home, I walked Nala and Prince around the local dog park for an hour before coming home and working on my new EP.
I had my lunch a couple of hours later, and then put on my shoes and drove to the local florist. Today was Ant's birthday, and even though he was away, Aria and I wanted to surprise him. According to the plan she drew up, I needed to buy a bouquet of special flowers and she was gong to hand-draw him a card during her lunch-break. After going back and forth for quite sometime, she chose a bouquet of white lilies, as they were his favourites. I paid for them before going to pick Aria up from school.
We stopped at home for a quick snack and to get dressed, before heading out to surprise Ant. Aria showed me her card, which was absolutely adorable.
After a short drive, we arrived at our destination. We got out the car and made our way to Anthony's gravestone.
When we arrived, I gently lay the lilies in front of his headstone. It said
Here lies Anthony Ramos-Martinez

A loving father, son, husband and brother
May he rest in peace
I silently cursed the drunk driver that cost him his life almost 8 years ago. Aria was only 3 when it happened and only remembers him from photos. Aria had wandered off around the graveyard, so I took it as an opportunity to speak to him privately.
"Where to begin. Aria is now 11 if you can believe it. She is so into musical theatre and has loved Hamilton since I introduced her to it. She said her favourite characters are Philip Hamilton and John Laurens. I almost broke down when she told me that. She is really into baseball now, just like you." I was crying softly now, unable to stop the tears from flowing down my face. "I miss you so much and constantly wish you were here with me." At that, I turned around and Aria and I walked back to the car and drove home.
