A Storm of Dragons
Jaehaerys Targaryen
Jae was slightly surprised to hear that they would go to Dorne. He remembered all the stories Mother Elia had told him. She had told him everything she knew about Dorne. Talking about her past, about her brothers. Oberyn and Doran. How Dorne looked like and how people were there. The beauty of the place. Jae understood that mother Elia wanted him to see House Martell as his family too.
Jae loved his brother and sister, and he liked to fight with Oberyn and sometimes spent time with Ari. Jae looked at the Narrow Sea and then his eyes went to the dragons made of stone.
Jae thought they would stay longer in Dragonstone. He liked to stay here and so did Bloodfyre. At first, he thought he wouldn't like DragonStone but after visiting every place, especially the garden of Aegon. He began to like it.
To Think so many things has changed Jae thought to himself. He still remembered finding it hard to stay in the King's Landing all the time. He would often dream of being Winter and he liked it. He would hunt with her, and that would reassure Jae that she was fine and happy.
She was away and close at the same time. Jae still dreamed of being her sometimes but he knew she had gone back to the North. Jae wasn't entirely sure where she was but he was sure he could find her if he wanted. Jae was happy that Winter looked healthy and from what he remembered from his last dream is that she would soon have little puppies running around.
When it came to The North, Jaehaerys hasn't visited it since he reunited with his family. The only possible reason he could find to go back was to see Arya and possibly Bran again and to visit his mother's tomb. He didn't care to see Winterfell. That place was like a Nightmare for Jaehaerys.
For the last four years, his father had requested for Jae to learn everything he had missed all those years. The maester had to spend extra hours to teach him things that were necessary for him. Rule, politics, and many other things.
Rhaenys, grandmother, and Dany had tough him how to write and speak Valyria. It took Jae a while but after almost 4 years he finally knew Valyria good enough. One of the most boring and annoying parts about being a prince was the lords and their daughters trying to get a piece of him. He found all that very annoying. And all the marriage proposals. One other annoying thing was everyone calling him 'Your grace' and bowing to him.
I'm no God, why they should bow to me?
And the hand of the king was above all of them. The Lord hand would often talk about House Blackfyre and other things to irritate Jae. He knew why he was saying all of that in front of him.
In the beginning, Jae felt bad and anxious that his family might think the same as the lord's hand. Jae knew very well what the lord was thinking about him. But when Egg and Rhaenys had demanded his head for talking bad for Jae. All the sadness and anxiety had washed away.
After that, the lord's hand had been quiet, but Jae could see from his eyes that he still thought that Jae would steal the damn throne for himself.
Jae didn't care about the chair, and he found it highly uncomfortable. After 2 months since he had arrived in Kings Landing, his brother had told him to sit on it at least once.
' Jae was following Egg to the throne room, behind them was Ser Arthur and Ser Martell. It was very early in the morning, everyone was still sleeping except for a few handmaidens and servants who had woken up and started doing their jobs. The sun was shining through the large windows around The Red Keep.
Jae looked around for anyone who might come out of the shadows and try to hurt his brother.
Ser Arthur frowned every time he saw the young prince looking wary all the time. He had tried to tell him many times that he was safe here, in his home, and he was with him in case something happened, but Jae always said that there was no harm in being caution. Arthur had told the king and the queen about Jae. They told Jae that he was safe here but that didn't change anything.
