Jaehaerys Targaryen
The Winds of Winter were harsh, he could feel his skin almost freeze. He put his hands deep in his pockets, The snowstorm wasn't stopping, it had started for an hour. Jaehaerys wondered where this storm even came from. His skin felt cold, it had turned blood red around his ears and nose, he knew Bloodfyre was around, probably hunting.
Arya stood close to Jae sometimes glancing at him almost not believing that he was there. Jae smiled down at her, and he saw a small thing moving his small legs around the snow and walking towards them.
"Ghost" Jae spoke happy and took the young direwolf in his hands. Ghost looked at him with red eyes almost like he wanted to say something to him.
"You hungry my boy," Jae asked smiling brightly at the little Winter. Ghost just stood on his hands moving his tail around excited.
Jae smiled and went inside the tent, house Mormont had prepared for him, the skin of different animals was warm to stand, his tent was the largest despite his protest that he didn't need a large tent, but Lady Dacey had assured him that he deserved their hospitality.
Jae had then helped them to set up the tents while waiting for the snowstorm to pass. Richard stood close mostly talking with Arya.
Jae smiled when Ghost started drinking milk from the leather bottle filled with milk, Ghost was as quiet as a ghost even when drank milk, unlike his brothers and sisters who were loud most of the time.
While looking at Ghost, his mind went to his family, Jae didn't want to concern them more than he has already, Jae had decided to leave once the snowstorm stops. He hoped his family wouldn't try to come North to see if he was alright, especially Rhaenys.
A sound made him escape from his thoughts and looked at the tent opening and Arya walked inside smiling, her puppy in her hands.
"How is Nymeria?" Jae asked with a small smile seeing Nymeria looking at Ghost who was lying on the furr and looked to want and fall asleep.
"She's fine, beautiful and dangerous just like Nymeria" Arya started looking down at her puppy and slightly raising her hands so Nymeria was on the same level with her head.
"Aren't you my little brave warrior?" Arya asked with a childish tone grinning at the puppy who kept waving her tail around. Arya turned her head to look at Jon.
"How are things now that you're the almighty Father of Dragons?" Arya asked her eyes going from her wolf to Jae who slightly frowned not liking the name and titles given to him. He still was sure that he hadn't done much, it was Bloodfyre the one who brought the new dragons into the world.
"I don't like people calling me that, just call me Jae or Jon" he replied trying to hide the fact that he didn't really like his old name but Arya knew him better than the old one.
Arya beamed at his words and moved closer to him. "It's good to see my brother again" she replied her smile not leaving her face but then a thought occurred to her.
"How is Princess Rhaenys?" She asked avoiding his eyes still remembering the harsh words she said to her the last time they talked.
"She's fine Arya, she has forgiven you" Jae responded not really liking to talk about old wounds, Rhaenys was happy to have him amongst them. And there was no need to talk about it anymore.
"How are the others?" Jae asked thinking about Bran and Rickon.
"They're well, Bran keeps climbing everything, he likes to smile and always wants to smile and makes others smile, that's what Sansa had written in her letters" she replied with a small smile.
But then her smile slowly disappeared. "Rickon is . . . Fine. I think, he's healthy from what she told me" she said but not sure what else to say. Sansa hasn't said much when it came to Rickon and Robb.
Arya still avoided his eyes and kept looking at the furs beneath her, her hands playing with Nymeria.
Taking a deep breath he put his hand under her chin. "Is everything alright?" Jae asked with a hint of seriousness but still a soft tone.
Arya bit her lower lip slightly and tried to avoid his eyes again but in vain. She felt hot tears developing in her eyes and threatening to come out, she tried to fight them back.
Jae got concerned and moved closer to her, he put his hand on her shoulder trying to make her feel better.
"Have - have you . . . How is father?" She asked afraid of what Jae would think of it. Jaehaerys slightly frowned at the mention of his uncle, truthfully he had thought a few times to meet him but in the end, had decided to not spend his time with him after everything that he had done.
In his mind, Lord Stark deserved what happened to him. He knew what he was doing when he didn't give me to my father, instead, he raised me as a bastard and wanted to make sure my chances of ever meeting my family were slimmer by sending me to the Night's Watch, Jae thought with a hint of anger rising in his chest and looked back at Arya.
"I have to be honest, I don't know, all I can say is he's still alive, but I haven't visited him" Jae replied with a hint of dread, fearful that Arya would hate him and tell him to go away from her.
Her eyes lowered and looked disappointed. "Oh," she murmured under her breath and hugged her legs tightly, looking at the fur below her. It had been four years and many times she had hoped to see her father again, at least one more time.
Arya had abandoned the hope of ever seeing her mother, as much as it hurt, she knew she was to blame for how Jon was treated back in Winterfell, but now she wanted and hoped to see him again, for him to hug her and tell her that he was proud of her. Arya slightly bit her lower lip to not let herself cry, she didn't want to cry, not now. Wolves don't cry, She told herself.
I'm a Wolf, a proud and brave member of House Stark, I shouldn't cry, she told herself over and over again.
She felt Jon hugging her close, she buried her face in his chest and let tears streaming down her cheek. Jae kissed her forehead and let her cry it all out.
Soon Arya pulled away and started playing with Nymeria trying to forget her father, for now, Jae smiled and was about to ask when . . .
"Jaehaerys, The Ice Dragon is around here somewhere, she's close" Bloodfyre warned him and flying in circles close to the camp.
Jae nodded his head in understanding and turned to his sister, he knew he needed to leave, Jae didn't know how Aeraexes would react to him or Bloodfyre but if it was violent, he didn't want to fight her with the others around here.
He stood up and turned to look at his sister, "I need to leave Arya, Bloodfyre says . . . " he was interrupted by a loud sound coming outside, the wind had gotten harsher and the snow wasn't stopping. The wind blows inside, he closed his eyes tightly from the harsh wind.
The tent they were in almost blew away from the force of the wind, Jae put his hands In front of his face and suddenly the ground shook and he almost fell, trying to regain his balance.
"He's Here" Bloodfyre screamed from outside.
For the first time, Jae felt like Bloodfyre was afraid of something.
He walked outside and he saw Bloodfyre had landed close to their camp, much closer than usual. His eyes turned to look in the direction of the Wall.
In time to see a huge white creature flying towards them. The dragon roared, her roar was heard like a clap of loud thunder.
"We Have to Fight"
