Rhaegar Targaryen 290 AC
The sun was shining, the light on his face. The air fresh of the morning. He was looking as Rhaenys, Daenerys and Egg were playing together. His sister's hair dancing around, like a beautiful silver dress. Rhaegar felt his heart warm seeing them playing and laughing with each other.
Looking at his sister's reminded him again of Viseny . . .
He quickly shooked that thought away from his head. She was not with him and neither was Lyanna, no point to get stuck in the past when he had two beautiful children in the present. How would she look like, would she look like a wolf or a dragon or a Dragonwolve. . . Rhaegar couldn't help but think, a little girl's face was in front of his eyes, a girl with Lyanna's face, her wildness. Silver long hair like Dany, and nose like Rhaenys. He felt a hot tear in his cheek, Why am I crying? Rhaegar asked himself. He quickly used his hand to remove his tear. I can't think of Visenya and Lyanna anymore. I have to move on. My children don't need to see my crying . . .
It had been 7 years but he still felt for her, there were many times when he would wake up and look at his left expecting to see her but instead just an empty bed. Elia would cry sometimes too, telling him that she missed her, that the Gods were cruel not even leaving a child to remember her from.
There were many times during the first year, when Rhaenys would ask him why he was crying, most of the time she would start crying too when she saw her father cry.
Since then Rhaegar had tried very hard to not look weak in front of Egg or Rhaenys.
Elia would often tell Rhaenys and Egg about Lyanna, she always said that she was the bravest woman in the world. Most generous and brave.Rhaenys always liked to hear stories about Lya.
Arthur wasn't a big help, in the beginning, he had blamed himself for not staying with Lyanna and making sure she was alright.
Elia would always tell him that he wouldn't be able to do anything. Elia told him that they won because of him, without him they could have lost and Rhaegar agreed with her. Who knew what would happened if Arthur wasn't there and Rheagar didn't wanted to know. His mother was a big help for him, sometimes he would wonder why she wasn't Hand of The King instead of Jon.
She would deal with a lot of things for him, making his duty easier and giving him more time to spend with Rhaenys and Aegon. What surprised Rhaegar was that during his time when he was at The Greyjoy Rebellion, Rhaenys had very strange dreams.
When he returned Elia told him that Rhaenys was dreaming every night like she was in a very cold place and hungry, sometimes she would see someone alone in a cold bed crying.
The dreams had continued for two weeks and then stopped, Rhaegar didn't know what to make of it and neither did the maester or his mother.
During that time Rhaenys would often wake up in the middle of the night crying and would come to their bed chamber and asking if she could sleep with them.
They always let her and after the dreams stopped, Rhaenys returned to herself and Rhaegar and Elia were very happy about it."Your grace" he escaped his thoughts when he heard Arthur's voice, he was walking towards him, "Arthur?" Rhaegar asked not knowing why he called him.
Arthur turned to look at the children with a smile then he looks back at Rhaegar. "I just came here to take Aegon and Rhaenys to train and the Queen wants to talk with you, she's in her chamber" Arthur replied respectfully.
Rhaegar sighed and stood up. "Very well, give your best against egg" Rhaegar said with a chuckle.
He was very happy that Rhaenys train too, she liked to use spears and swords. Oberyn would sometimes come and train her himself.
Aegon had started training three years ago and so far, he was good at it.
