Kayla was an ordinary girl from Kentucky, with only a few friends she trust, and her home was almost broken into shards. Through all of the pain and suffering, she still held her head up and smiled, hoping for a new beginning. Her friends came around periodically to check on her, mostly because they want to hang out with her. She normally doesn't have company over, due to her mother's constant drinking and her dad's abusive behavior.

One specific day in particular for Kayla, changed her life all together. Her mother and father were getting into an argument and she could hear it through her headphones, while she was doing her homework. Normally, she ignores the arguments because they don't last long, but this one had lasted longer than usual. Her mom, Karen, was getting most of the words.....her dad, Ronald, was on the receiving end of the whole thing. Kayla listened to every word that was said....realizing what the whole argument was about and there was more to than what she had bargained for.

Karen - One simple question....was she your "friend" as you put it or was she something else to you?

Ronald - She was my friend, and she came on to me at the party. I told you that so many times, and yet you still have in your heart that I cheated on you with her. Can't you get it through your skull....I'm not cheating, you're the one who cheated on me. Funny, you question me about cheating. Do you remember when I found out about Kayla's conception from your mother? Yeah, I never said anything about it to you, because I wanted to see your reaction for all these years. You and that fool of a brother, Tony.....I should've known something was wrong with that picture. He is your brother, and you went to fooling around with him when you were both 18 years old!

Karen - I made a mistake then, and I have asked you for forgiveness so many times since then, I'm getting sick of it. You aren't Kayla's father, and I'm glad you aren't either.

Ronald turned around towards the stairwell, and saw Kayla standing there...speechless, crying, and she had a blank expression as well. Karen tried to walk over to her, but Kayla backed away.

Kayla - You're telling me that Uncle Tony is my father, and that dad isn't my dad?

Ronald - See...I told you she would find out the truth.

Karen - That's because you were talking so loud, you idiot.

Ronald - What have I told you about calling me that?

Karen - Go ahead and try something....she could call the police right now, if you ever lay a finger on me.

Kayla - Both of you are sick and twisted.....I can't believe either of you right now.

Ronald walked over to Kayla, and grabbed her by the throat. He had almost crushed her neck with his hands. Karen took a skillet and hit Ronald in the back of his head with it. Karen had called 911, and they put Kayla in the ambulance. The police asked what happened, and Karen replied that she straddled her neck on the arm of the staircase going down. Ronald gained consciousness after 2 hours of laying on the floor. He spent the next 30 minutes looking for Karen, with a pistol in hand. He tore up the house looking for her, and when he went to kitchen...he found a note from her. "Dear Ronald, pack your shit and get the hell out of that house before I have the police there." He knew whenever she was bluffing, she'd start making threats about calling the police....she never did call the police that night.

Kayla gained consciousness, as she stared into the bright lights on the ceiling, and doctors heard a blood curdling scream coming from her room. She was trying move out of the bed, and the doctors had to put her sedate her, in order to keep her calm. About two hours later, Sheriff William was called up to her room, and was asked to speak to her.

Sheriff William - Kayla?

She moved her head in the direction of the man, and she could barely make out a face, but she recognized the voice.

Kayla - Willie....is that you?

Sheriff William - Yes, it's me. Kayla, I have to know....what happened to you and why are you here in this kind of predicament?

He watched as Kayla's eyes widened, and she began saying strange things to William.

Sheriff William - Kayla.....what are you talking about?

Kayla - Jessica.....

Sheriff William jumped out of the chair next to the bed, and he began to back away really slowly. He couldn't begin to understand how she knew about the whole thing with Jessica.

Kayla - Jessica.....she was the person you introduced me to at my birthday party a few months back.

William began to think to himself, and when it finally hit him....he was ultimately terrified.

Sheriff William - You are the dream catcher? Just like grandma....you are just like her, and possibly way worse than that.

Kayla rolled her eyes at his words, and she went to sleep....not caring about Willie's concern about her, or the situation she is in. During mid-sleep, she had a dream that her friends would do something that could change their friendships. Her closest friend, Jaime, would be the victim of it all and Kayla couldn't do anything about it in the dream....but she knew that she could try to change it in reality. When the dream was over, Kayla reached for her phone and she called Jaime.

Jaime - Hello?

Kayla - Jaime, it's me.....

Jaime - Hey, why weren't you at school today?

Kayla - Long story...but I will explain that later. You need to watch out for James, Kenny, Sarah, and Sasha....

Jaime - Why?

Kayla - Just do it for me....meet me on Saturday at 12 o'clock. I will explain everything there.

Jaime - Ok?

-Trying something new for right now. We'll see where this goes from here-
