15. not so cute meet-cute

rosie, while her feet was dipped in the pool and her hair up in a messy bun, heard the pitter patter of light footsteps trudging closer. she had been all alone in the smaller outdoor pool and she couldn't help but feel interrupted.

she hadn't been able to get any sleep since they had came back from their night out in london. her unnies and lisa had been exhausted and had knocked out on their beds. lisa hadn't had the opportunity to lie to them about where she went at night because she was already drolling on her pillow.

jimin made his way to the pool and sighed when he saw somebody else already there. damn, i thought i'd be alone tonight.

well, might as well. "hey, i'm jimin. you can't sleep too?" he said in english. he didn't mean to flirt, his voice just seemed to come out that way. he set the the alcohol he brought with him down by his flip flops.

"i'm not interested," chaeyoung snarked out. she really did not want to be bothered. she simply couldn't sleep and wanted a place to herself to see the stars.

jimin scrunched his nose at the attitude she gave him. "hey, no need to be rude." he scoffed, taking his shirt off and slipping into the pool, far away from the blonde girl glaring daggers at him.

"whatever." she tsked.

jimin stayed silent, not wanting to piss her off even more, i didn't even do anything so like what the fuck?

but after few minutes of awkward silence between the two, chaeyoung couldn't help but feel him looking at the side of her face. her eyebrows pulled together and she turned to him, letting an exasperated sigh out.

"can i help you?"

the boy put his thumb and his forefinger to his chin, a curious look on his face as he examined her features. "do i know you from somewhere?"

the corners of her lips quirked. "no, i don't think we've ever before." she expected silence in return, but she heard sloshing around the water and before she knew it this jimin guy was less than a foot away from her.

"hey, haven't you ever heard of personal space?!" she yelped, moving away from him.

a smile danced on jimin's lips as he came to a realization. "hey, you're the chick that yelled at me on omegle once! about astrology!"

chaeyoung's face flushed a cherry red, of which she wished he couldn't see due to the blue hue of the pool lights. "yeah, so what?" she turned away in embarrassment.

"so, this is perfect."

chaeyoung looked him in the eye with a look of disbelief. "perfect?"

jimin crossed his arms over his bare chest, his expression becoming prideful. "now, you can apologize." he said in a somewhat jokey tone, hoping she'd go along with it.

"unbelievable! why would i apologize?" she said further backing away from him. jimin almost laughed at the sight. he could almost swear that smoke was coming off of the top of her head "you were the one completely making fun of my interests even though you don't know jack shit about them!"

jimin held back a cackle as the blonde's bloodd boiled in front of him.

"geez, calm down, will you?" he prompted, hoping to not have this girl completely hate him, but the effect of his words went a whole other direction than he wanted it to.

chaeyoung heard the condescending tone in his voice and her jaw slackened in fury. "ugh!" she groaned. drifting to the ladder on the side of the pool. "i'm done here!"

she left, water dripping from her swimsuit and making a trail as she walked on, her messy bun coming undone.

"hey, i'm a libra by the way!" jimin called back to her.

"UGH!" she exclaimed one last time before turning a corner and disappearing from his sight.

jimin had a sly smile on his face. what the hell just happened?

he took his beer and opened it. "jesus, that girl needs to loosen up."
