Echo's POV

I wasn't actually going to work for Illusion Maser. Pft, who does he think I am? I was only going to trick him, so I could get Nyra and leave. It was going to be hard, and it's dangerous now that he knows my identity. He can find out the others' identity and hurt them, but I will not let that stop me. I'm going to need the others' help, but I know it's not going to go well. I like to work by myself, it's easier for me. Hopefully, my friends know my plan even though I didn't tell them. I mean they should know, we've been friends since 7th grade and we're in 11th grade now.

Anyway, this abandon house looks small on the outside but HUGE on the inside. Illusion Master is taking me somewhere, but I don't know where. I think he has an underground secret lair. That would be sick, if he did! It would be like one of those villains vs. superheroes comics that Riker reads. No one knows that I actually read superhero comics. They're so cool and like I don't know how to explain it. Dang, I get distracted easily. Ok, main goal is to get Nyra and find our team. I got this!

Third person POV

Echo was led to an underground basement. She saw her friend Nyra tied up with bruises on her. Nyra still had her superhero suit, but it was torn up.

Echo gasped and asked, "Did you do that?!"

"I had to, she wouldn't hold still," Illusion Master responded in his deep voice. "Why would you care child I thought you wanted to team up with me?" Illusion Master questioned suspiciously looking at Echo.

"U-um yes I want to team up with you," Echo said, trying not to blow her cover.

"Hm ok," Illusion Master said, and they kept on walking.

They kept on walking until they reached a door. Illusion Master opened the door to find a nice bedroom. It was weird for an evil villain who is trying to fight a team of teenagers, but some villains are just mysterious that way. The room was neat; it was themed white and purple.

"Wow, I didn't know supervillains have taste," Echo said. "Hey! Supervillains can have taste!" Illusion Master exclaimed.

"Ok, calm down," Echo said, walking more into the room. She took in every detail in the room, trying to find a solution to get Nyra out.

"This is where you will stay," Illusion Master said.

"Oh, uh, I'm not staying here," Echo said.

"Yes, you are. You don't have a choice," Illusion Master said, going out of the room to lock it.

"What?!" Echo exclaimed, running toward the door.

Illusion Master laughed and said through the door, "You're my prisoner now! Mwhahahaha!"

"No!" Echo shouted and started banging on the door. "I should've known, you can never trust a supervillain," Echo muttered, sitting her back against the door. Echo put her knees to her chest and was trying to think how is she going to get out of this mess.

She sighed and remembered that she had bobby pins in her hair. She took them out and picked locked the door. Once she successfully picked locked the door, she looked around to make sure Illusion Master wasn't there. Echo tried to find where Nyra was. Nyra saw her and started to yelled which sounded muffled. Echo turned around to find a bruised Nyra, and she put her finger over her mouth. Echo tried to find tools to unchain Nyra. Once Nyra was free, she hugged Echo and cried.

"Shhh you're safe now," Echo said hugging her back trying to calm her down.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Illusion Master asked, clapping his hands slowly.

A/N This chapter is shorter probably because when I was writing this last year I was losing motivation. At least I finished writing the book though.
