Charlie's POV

Yesterday Willow asked me to pretend to be her boyfriend. And now here we are, standing in the parking lot of the school.

We had arrived about five minutes ago but it felt like an hour. I am so nervous. What am I going to have to do? How far is this going to go? What's going to happen when this is ends? Will it ever end?

"Charlie?" I heard Willow say, shaking me away from my thoughts. "You look a bit pale. You okay?" Willow asked with a concerned look on her face. "Uhm, yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I'm good. I'm cool." I tell her, babbling nervously. "Listen, I know it might be weird but it's only until Austin gives up, okay?" Willow told me trying to be reassuring. I just nodded and let out a shaky breath. Willow smiled and gave my hand a quick squeeze. "This will be over before you know it and we'll be back to being weird best friends." Willow told me. I nodded again and got out of the car.

I jogged over to the other side of the car and opened Willow's door. Willow got out and I shut the door. Right before we got to the doors, Willow turned to me.

"Okay, hold my hand." Willow said instructively. "I know what to do Willow. Don't worry about me." I told her. "I mean, I've had a couple girlfriends before." I mention as well. I mentally cringed at the thought though. "Yeah, which all failed, I might add." Willow said letting out a giggle. I just rolled my eyes.

Yep. I've had a couple girlfriends. They were mainly to distract me from thinking about Willow all the time but none of those relationships were successful at helping me do that. So I kind of just gave up on any other girls because not one girl in this school was just as special as Willow.

So, we walked inside, hand in hand. I tried my best to think about other things besides holding Willow's small warm hand. I didn't want to be super nervous and have my hand start sweating, but, I was still nervous and literally trembling on the inside. I felt like I was going to go weak at the knees at any second and fall on my face, but I did my best to stay upright.

We walked over to our lockers which were evidently placed right next to each others and started talking. Willow knew Austin would already be staring at her so she made sure to act super flirty. Help. Me.

Willow was facing away from Austin and was leaning on her left shoulder against the lockers, as I was facing her. I could also see Austin so she kept asking me questions. "What's he doing?" Willow asked trying to giggle and smile as much as she could. "Staring. What did you think he was doing?" I ask sarcastically and smiling. "How is this helping him from staying away?" I ask her. "I've explained this a million times Charlie. If we act like we're dating and be super flirty it will get him off my back. Then he'll just back off and go to another girl." Willow told me. "Right." I reply.

Then the bell sounded for everyone to go to their first classes. Mine was History and Willow's was English. But Austin was still staring as we started to shut our lockers. "Willow, he's still staring. What do we do?" I ask her quickly. "Give him something to stare at." Willow said quickly. "How do we do that?" I ask clearly still confused. "Okay, you're gonna hate me but just kiss me." Willow told me.

I felt my face turning slightly red already.

"Willow, I couldn't. You're my bestfriend." I told her, as much as I did want to kiss her, I still had to act like I didn't want to. This. Is. Killing. Me. "Charlie, you agreed to this. I told you it was gonna get awkward. We're running out of time and we have to get to class." Willow told me in a rushed tone. "He's coming our way Willow." I told her, now obviously panicked. All of a sudden I felt her hands on my shoulders pulling me forward. Then, she gave me a quick kiss on my lips, gave me a quick hug, and was already on her way to English.

Well that just happened. I felt as though I couldn't move. My face was now completely bright red and I was extremely stunned. I quickly snapped out of it and started to walk past Austin and towards my class.

When all of a sudden, my shoulder collided with Austin's. "Dude! Why did you do that?" I asked Austin. "Stay away from her." Austin told me in an angry tone. "Sorry buddy. She's with me. Besides, she was never your girlfriend so I suggest you stay away from her." I told him, anger rising through me. "Try and stop me." Austin said in a truly sinister tone.

I couldn't stand that guy any longer. Before I knew it, I felt pain explode through my knuckles. I looked down at my hand and my knuckles were bruised and had blood on them. What just happened?
