Something was off and I couldn't put my finger on it.

I sit at my desk in my office, looking through the new company building plans. Since we went to that fight club and I saw that man, something was off.

As usual, Dante sat in the corner another book in his hand, my employees rushed through the company doing their jobs while I sat here trying to figure out what was off.

Dorian was keeping something from me and I hated that he was so hard to read that I couldn't figure it out. I even tried to use Jaxon puppy dog eyes, which was a fail.

A soft knock on the door pulled me out of my thoughts, Lana popped her head in with a smile on her lips, "You have a little guest,"

I cocked a brow at her chirpy tone, but when the door opened wider and a smile touched my lips. Jaxon walked into the room with a rose in his hand. It was one in the afternoon on a Thursday when he was supposed to be in school.

Instead of the uniform, he supposes to have on, he was wearing tan cargo pants cuffed up at the bottom with a brown plaid shirt underneath his white Ralph Lauren polo sweatshirt, by the fresh air forces he was wearing I'm guessing his father dressed him.

"Hi mommy," The softness in his voice made my heartthrob, and a warmth run through me as he came behind my desk handing me the flower.

"Baby, aren't you suppose to be in school?" I kissed his cheeks before taking the flower out of his hands, his birthday was on Saturday, and I can't believe how big he was getting.

"I think that's for me to know and for you too, dot dot dot," His words came out weird due to his missing teeth still, a snort escapes from the corner of the room, noticing Dante still was in there. I knew I shouldn't have watched Netflix around him.

"You are too cute," I pinched his cheeks he pushed my hand away and shook his head.

"I'm not cute mommy, I'm handsome," Jaxon sighs dramatically while shaking his head, every time I call him cute he goes on and on about how he's growing up but still he will always be my baby.

"Whatever, mommy's handsome and sweet cute boy," I pulled him into my arms, making him giggle while I kissed his cheeks.

I felt him in the room, turning my gaze to the doorway. Dorian stood there holding a bigger bouquet with a smile on his lips looking at us together, pulling away from Jaxon and standing up.

In the corner of my eyes, while making my way to Dorian, I watched Jaxon jump into my seat with a frown on his lips as he looked through my draws. He's looking for the candy I usually have on my desk.

"What's going on?" I asked taking the flowers from his hands, he ran a hand through his dark hair, today instead of his usual black suit. He was wearing a white button-up shirt and tan dress pants looking oddly similar to Jaxon.
