As I walk down the hallway to the cafeteria to grab me so breakfast before class starts, I run into Elmo as he picks up some papers off the floor. " Oh I'm so sorry Elmo. I didn't see you there. I guess I really was lost in thought." I say nervously.
He smiles and says" No worries." He puts the papers in his bags. "Also good morning Zoe." He states. " Right, Right. Good morning Elmo." I reply. I point to the papers, and raise an eyebrow.
"Oh these, these are volleyball tryout sheets. I was heading towards the cafeteria to hang them up. " He states. He smiles then asks"Do you wanna walk with me to hang them up." My eyes go wide and I can feel my cheeks redden by the second.
"I. Umm. Sure."I chuckle. "Great!" He exclaims. " So do you plan on trying out? I remember you saying that you like volleyball on your first day. " Elmo asks. " I really don't know. I love the sport, but I don't know if I'm ready to play with more people than just my mom. Like what if I make a fool out of myself. I've barely been here a week. I would have to move to a complete other school." I rush out.
" Wow it seems like you put a lot of thought into that." He reply's. "Well I'm 100% positive you'll make it on the team." he states as he pins the tryout form on the board. "Wow thank you Elmo." I answer. " No problem. Anyway I hope to see your name on here when I take this off in a week, okay." He states.
" No promises but I'll think into it." I reply. " Okay well I gotta head to class. Catch you later." He states as he turns to walk away. " Catch you later." I murmur. He turns around so quick I'd thought I were dreaming, and winks.
I almost fall but catch myself on the bulletin board. Before I know it I sign my name on the paper and hurry off to grab me some breakfast. I can't stop thinking about how I was just charmed by a boy.
