Jennie
Every day it felt like Jennie's heart was breaking. While initially she couldn't decide how she felt on the idea of Lisa never coming back seeing the effect her absence clearly had on Rosie hurt so much. As angry as Jennie wanted to be at Lisa for leaving, she couldn't help but feel hopeful that the girl was all right, and that she would return.
"Jennie, I don't know if Lisa is coming back."
Jennie looked up from the lunch she had been staring at for the past fifteen minutes. Sensing pity in Jisoo's tone Jennie tried to deflect.
"She could come back, it's only..." Jennie though for a second, "well it's Friday but still."
Taehyung smiled sadly.
"People don't usually miss the first week of a school term. It's kinda important."
Jennie rolled her eyes.
"So is the last week and she sure missed that." She mumbled and Taehyung frowned.
"That's exactly my point Jennie, maybe she didn't care because she never planned on coming back."
Before Jennie could spit something back Jisoo interrupted to calm the two down.
"Guys we are all upset, but don't start arguing. At least not while I'm here."
Jennie shifted and looked down at the grass by her legs. Everything seemed kind of grey and desaturated today but hey, that matched the general mood around here.
After everything last term Jennie and Jisoo has become close with Taehyung over the holidays. Jennie wasn't sure why they didn't hang out before, and it made her regret closing herself off to so many people.
"Sorry Jen, I miss her too."
Jennie smiled at Taehyung and looked around the schoolyard at the various groups huddled around eating their recess. The was one particular person she didn't see.
"How's... have you seen Rosie today?"
Frowning he shook his head.
"She wasn't on the train, so I guess we're missing two today."
"They weren't even here last year, but I miss them anyway." Jisoo whispered.
Seeing her usually bright and cheerful best friend look so down brought Jennie to her senses.
"Wow we are depressing huh? How about..." Jennie smiled at her two friends conspiratorially, "after school let's go round to Rosies house and we can try and cheer her and ourselves up a bit, forget everything else right?"
Clearly by 'everything else' Jennie meant Lisa but Taehyung and Jisoo seemed amused by her uncharacteristic enthusiasm.
"I would love to but I can't, I have soccer tonight."
Jennie rolled her eyes and looked to Jisoo.
"Well?"
"It's kinda my mum's birthday."
Jennie groaned and lay back on the ground.
"I can do Saturday though."
Jennie looked to Taehyung but he shook his head.
"I have a soccer game tomorrow night."
Jisoo and Jennie looked at him with raised eyebrows.
"What?"
"You are such a loser."
Taehyung looked at Jennie is disbelief as the two girls stood up gathering their things.
"What? Because I do sport?!"
Ignoring him they began to walk away and giggled as he shouted after them.
"Why am I a loser? Guys!"
