Two years ago...

Jennie

Jennie has lived all around the world but spent most of her late childhood in New Zealand. Halfway through high school she moved to Australia for her mum's work, it seemed like maybe this time they would stay. Things were pretty awesome then. She met a boy called Jake with beautiful blue eyes and a shining smiling and fell for him right away. They hung out all summer then entered the next school year as the hottest new couple. She thought they would last and was devastated when her mum told her that they would be moving back to Korea. She was happy that she could go to school with her best friend again for the first time since she was little, and she was happy that her mum promised, this time it was for good. But she had to leave Jake. She loved him and she could hardly bare to leave. That was until something unexpected occurred.

It happened a week after she found out she was leaving and two weeks before the mid year break, when she would fly to Korea. They were going to a big house party with a bunch of people from school.
"Here it is."
Jake smiled at Jennie with his ever twinkling eyes as they pulled up outside a house where loud music could already be heard softly pumping in the distance. Because it was near the end of term and at someone's house in the outer suburbs with a large property the party was highly anticipated as the best of the year. Jake leant across to the passenger seat to look closer at Jennies face.
"You okay babe? You look tired."
Jennie smiled softly, he was such a good boyfriend.
"Yeah I'm just... worried about something."
Jake frowned.
"Do you wanna skip the party and talk about it?" He looked over at the house with longing and Jennie almost laughed at his puppy dog eyes.
"No it's fine" she smiled up at him and gave him a quick kiss.
"Great, let's party and have some fun huh?" He practically jumped out of the car in excitement and shouted to some of his mates who had also just arrived. Jennie sighed and slowly got out of the car. I'll tell him tomorrow, for sure. For tonight we can just have some fun.

Jennie was not having fun. Because of her relationship with Jake she had never really made any friends at her school. There were a few people she chatted with in class but, she didn't really need anyone outside of her boyfriend. Though as she sat alone at the kitchen bench watching her boyfriend skull drinks with a huge pack of guys in the garden she kind of wished she had someone to talk to. No point trying to make friends now, not when she was leaving. Instead she pulled out her phone to text Jisoo, they had reconnected instantly when she said she was coming back despite barely talking for the past year or so, Jennie felt bad she hadn't tried harder to keep in touch but hey at least now they had lots to discuss before Jennie flew back to Korea.

Jennie
Hey
Jisoo
Hi!!!!
Wait. That was a sad hey, are you okay?

Jennie smiled at her friend who knew her so well.

Jennie
Still don't know how you do that, I'm just bored at a party
Jisoo
Well look forward to coming here then, parties here are awesome, and you'll never get bored cause I'll be with you!
Try to go have fun though, I have to study for a test tomorrow.
Jennie
Oh, okay
Jisoo
Hey I'm sorry for abandoning you but unless you want to tutor me in English while at a party I'm going to have to leave
Do something interesting, you can tell me all about it later tonight, I love a good story
Jennie
Yeah nah Unnie, I'm sure you could make up a story in your sleep better then what I'm doing now
Good luck with your studying, if you don't pass I'll stop helping you with English
Jisoo
You would never
Jennie
Yeah that's true

Sighing Jennie put her phone away. Maybe she should look for Jake, this was probably one of the last parties they'd spend together after all. As soon as she stepped into the garden large arms enveloped her in an enthusiastic hug.

"Hey babe... wherehaveyaaaabeen?"

Jake slurred as he spoke and Jennie cringed slightly at the strong smell of alcohol on his breath. She'd never been a huge fan of alcohol.

"In the kitchen, do you wanna get out of here, we could go get some food?" She asked hopefully, she was sick of this party now and hopefully a burger would sober Jake up.

"Ya, get out of here," Jake smirked and leaned in, hot breath filling her ear. "Sam was actually just telling me that there's heaps of bedrooms upstairs"

He slid his hands down to her waist and Jennie frowned, the smell of alcohol and the booming music was giving her a headache.

"We could go have some... fun you know."

Jennie scoffed and pushed him away and he stumbled as he walked back.

"Come talk to me in a couple of hours when you can see more than a metre in front of you, I'll take you home."

With that Jennie left Jake standing with a goofy surprised expression on his face and went back into the house. They'd had sex a few times but not as much since school had started. Jennie didn't want goodbye sex, especially not drunk goodbye sex. It would be to difficult, she'd rather spend some quiet time with him before she had to leave. She still needed to tell him but he was way too drunk. Tomorrow, Saturday. She would get him to meet her in the afternoon and then she would explain.

Resolve strengthened, Jennie went into a different living room where a bunch of kids were playing truth or dare. She sighed and sat on a couch in the corner opening her phone. Guess her entertainment would be coming from doodle jump tonight, unless she could get Jisoo away from her homework.

It was late, very late. Jennie felt exhausted. The party had raged around her for almost two hours now and it was only now finally starting to die down. People were still around, dancing and drinking, but many had gone home or moved outside. There were people slumped on couches and a few in the middle of the floor and Jennie decided she was ready to leave, whether Jake was willing or not. She would just tell him that and then call a taxi or something. Beginning to search through the house Jennie found nothing but more passed out kids and a few gross spills that were clearly vomit. Not finding Jake she decided to search outside next, but turning towards the kitchen she heard a huge chant starting in the garden and rather than facing drunk excited teenagers she opted to take a bathroom break. Heading upstairs to to the bathroom she passed many closed doors and hurried her pace, not in the mood to witness something gross.
Washing her hands and leaving the bathroom she heard a loud moan from the room to her right, there it was, the ungodly result of horny teenagers. Jennie almost laughed as the moan repeated, several times. It seemed to be a name... Rosie. Jennie decided to hurry downstairs to save her ears but suddenly a horrible thought came into her mind. The colour drained from her face, she recognised that guys voice. Hoping she was wrong she leant her ear towards the door carefully and listened when the moan came again, louder and clearer.

"Rosie!"

That was Jakes voice. Not stopping to think Jennie threw the door open and loud panting filled her ears. Looking to the large bed Jennie was confronted with a sight of her boyfriend she would not soon forget. He was behind a girl who was leaning away from him, her arms resting on the headboard, blonde hair covering her face from view. His hands gripped tightly, one on her pale hip and the other tangled in her hair as he pushed forward into her. They were both, very, naked.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Jennie shouted capturing Jakes attention who immediately stumbled back off the bed in fear.

"Jennie? I..."

Jennie didn't let him finish as she stormed out of the room and out of the house tears stinging her eyes. What the fuck. She thought again. And again. How could he do this to her, after everything. She had to walk in on him fucking another girl. Some random blonde whore.
Stopping once she was a few blocks away Jennie tried to calm herself down wiping the tears from her face. This is what you get for wasting your energy on romance Jennie, she told herself harshly. Get a fucking grip. I'm leaving soon anyway, I'll never have to see him again. I can go to Korea and start anew.
