We Found Love (Short Story)

"Good Morning Miss Sapphire. Medicine for today."

It's just vitamins. They give out vitamins because I don't usually eat all of my food.

"Hey. What's the name of the guy who saved me?"

I asked the nurse while she was busy fixing the vitamins.

"Ah. Si Sir Haider Sawri po"

Haider. Nice name.

"Okay," I said, "When is he coming here again?" I added.

"I'm not sure Miss Sapphire. But I can ask him for you."

Really? My eyes twinkled at what she said.

"Sure!"

Na-excite ako sa sinabi niya. I decided to make yellow butterflies for him. Incase na pumunta siya rito.

I was humming while making butterflies when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in!"

The door opened and there he was.

"Tinawag mo daw ako?"

I smiled at him and told him to come to my chair.

"Look! I made these butterflies for you. A thank you gift."

I showed him my butterflies.

He looked at it and held it with his hands. Tinignan niya ako kaya nailang ako pero di ko nalang pinansin.

"Thank you for these. Why did you ask for me?"

Why did I call him? I didn't call him. I was just asking when he will come here again.

"Nothing. So you go to school? What school? What course?"

I asked him curiously. Sabi niya kailangan niya mag-review so it means nag-aaral siya.

"Law"

He answered shortly. I didn't mind it. At least there's someone I know who cares for me.

"Wow! That's nice."

Naranasan ko din naman pumunta sa school. Vetmed student ako dati. But I dropped out. Because they put me here.

Magsasalita sana ako ulit pero nag-ring yung phone niya.

He excused himself but I heard it.

"You need me right now? Okay wait for me."

Inend niya yung call at kumuha ng papel sa desk ko. He took out a pen from his pocket and gave it to me.

"Call me when you need to say something to me."

And just like that. He left.

At least he gave me his number.

He cares for me right?

Sabi niya tawagan ko siya kapag may kailangan ako sabihin sakanya.

Yup. He cares for me.
