I run down the stairs with my suitcase in my right hand. My jansport filled with my laptop, camera, headphones, half a pck of gum and my wallet, sits comfortably on my back. My phone lies in the back pocket of my jeans.
"There she is" Nicole says as i reach the bottom of the stairs.
"Hey" I say to her
"You guys need to get going" Mum says almost pushing us out the door.
"Are you not coming to the airport mum?" I ask
"Sorry Ella i cant, i have to work, but you call me as soon as you land. Call me whenever, i'll miss you sobad, and i cant wait to see you again at thanksgiving, remember what it is you want to achieve, and dont lose sight of that" she says as she embraces me in a hug.
I hug her back and whisper in her ear.
"I'll be back soon mum"
"Please stay safe"
"I will mum, i promise"
"I love you"
"Love you too mum"
I break from her hug, put my suitcase in the boot of the car and get into the backseat with my backpack. I wave goodbye to my mum.
"We all set?" The sound of his voice startles me
"Holy crap Luke you almost gave me a heart attack!"
Luke laughs with Nicole who is seated in the front seat.
"Sorry about that" Luke laughs
Luke and Nicole have been dating ever since that party if Lukes we went to nearly two years ago. 6 months ago they moved in together. It gets on my nerves because this is the happiest i've ever seen Nicole but wherever she goes, he goes and vice versa. I never get to see Nicole anymore, But dont get me wrong i think Lukes great, I always have but i just really want to be able to hang with my sister like i used to.
"So Ella, do you know which catetgorie you'll be with? Luke asks trying to start conversation
"They said i will be placed with the 'Over 25s' but i wont find out who the judge is until i get to the house"
"Thats pretty cool, hey did you know my cousins Keaton and Wesley are there? They are in a group called Emblem3, they are--"
Nicole Elbows Luke to tell him to stop. Nicole knows who he is. She saw him that night and she saw his audition. She knows how heartbroken i was.
"Shut up Luke" Nicole says through gritted teeth.
"Im just hgonna sleep till we get there, we have like another hour" I say
I get my headphones out of my bag which is sitting on the seat next to me and stick them into my phone. I dont actually play any music i just have them to say to Nicole and Luke 'Dont talk to me'.
I lean my head up against the window and in the next 2 minutes my eyes are closed and im sleeping.
~At the aiport~
"Ella wake up!" Nicole says tapping my shoulder.
I wake up, stretch my arms out and look out the window. I almost forget why im here.
"Here you go" Luke says opening my door and wheeling my suitcase to my side.
"Thanks" I say yawning
I take my headphones out of my phone and put them back into my bag.
"Well cmon then!" Luke says impaitently
