~Ava's POV~

At the age of thirteen, I received my first custom made suit. Leather, with a baby pink hourglass as a belt buckle similar to my mother's. My parents were proud of what I became. They home schooled me to avoid all of the questions that would be asked. My mother and father were gone quite a lot on missions, and I was left with our nice neighbor Sharon. I grew fast, I was thirteen and looked as if I were in my twenties. One night, my father came home to Agent Nick Fury sitting in our living room. I hid in my room like my mother instructed. Gunshots erupted breaking the silence. I could hear glass breaking. My mother stayed to comfort me. When my father returned he told us we had to leave and move into Stark Tower. We packed our things and were moving in the next morning. Mr. Stark had a floor in the tower made for my mother and father.

For my eighteenth birthday, my father took us out to a carnival like he used to go to in his younger years. He told us he used to go every year with his best friend. I could tell it made him sad for some reason. I asked him about it later that evening and he told me about his best friend, he referred to him as Bucky. I had never heard him talk about him until now. He told me that Bucky had died on a mission. Him and my mother left to go somewhere one afternoon. They were gone for what seemed like hours.

When they finally came home it was super late and they looked horrible. My father was crying. I had never seen him cry before. He told me everything was okay, but he looked as if there was something else about the situation. As if maybe he wasn't telling the full truth. He began doing research. Lots of it. He was leaving everyday around the same time. My mother told me it was just for work. I think they both have been lying to me. They left for a mission, they told me it was going to be very dangerous and that they loved me. I watched the first and second episodes of Star Wars while they were on their mission. I heard the elevator stop on our floor and my mother walked into the room.

"Mom! You're okay!"

"We're okay Ava. But, your father is in the hospital." My mother explained.

"What? Why what happened!?"

"He got into a fight. He got hurt pretty bad." She replied.

"Will he be okay?"

"Yes, he had some water in his lungs from the river he fell into, but he was pulled out." She had tears in her eyes.

"Oh thank goodness, do you know who pulled him out?"

"We don't know. But, we should know when he wakes up." She told me.
