Me: *throws up gay flags while being gay and writing boys love*

{Tanjiro POV}
I woke up to a sliver of light coming through my blinds, tickling my nose slightly, making me sneeze in the process.I sniffled and got up with a stretch, chucking on my robe and placing my sword in its sheath. I smiled to myself and played around with my hair a little before skipping away to Nezuko's room. I hope she slept alright, this is a big change after all.
Opening the little door, I saw Nezuko still sleeping peacefully in the darkness. I gently caressed her cheek while kissing her softly in the top of her head. Carefully I placed her sleeping figure inside the box and shut it firmly, walking out of the room to go greet Giyuu.
To be honest I wasn't really sure why I admired the water pillar so much. Something just drew me to him and I felt a weird feeling around him. It wasn't necessarily bad; I just didn't know what the feeling was yet, or what to make of it. I guess it was just best to ignore the feeling for now.
Sighing I was about to knock on his room when I heard a scratching noice on the window. I turn my head to see my crow flapping frantically trying to get my attention.
I opened the window slightly agar, enough for me to hear him "SQUAK! NORTH EAST NORTH EAST! WITH THE SERPENT PILLAR, SQUAWK"
"Ok ok I get it! Thank you" with that information I shooed the bird away and made my way around the butterfly mansion to look for Obanai the serpent pillar as requested. I'll just have to greet Giyuu-san another time.
I walked for about five minutes before resting outside without a clue as to where he was. I took in the warm morning sun before feeling a small tap on my shoulder; startling me a little "good morning Tanjiro! Would you like some breakfast?" The three girls asked me, holding up a bundle of rice balls to my face.
"Ah thank you very much" I smiled warmly at the girls before taking two rice balls, scoffing them in no time.
I smiled basking in the sunlight when someone sat next to me, I turned my head to see just who I was looking for, Obanai. "Ah there you are! We have a mission together" I said turning towards the serpent pillar. He hummed in response and stood up as I followed him silently, normally he's angry - I wonder what's got him so silent?
"We will be going in 5 minutes, get you're stuff and meet me by the entrance" he says, and with that I quickly ran off to get Nezuko and my sword before coming to the gate in no time.
I was greeted with Obanai already waiting for me with his white snake and sword. I smiled and shifted Nezuko a little so it was more comfortable when walking.
"Let's go!"
With that we went off. The trail was absolutely beautiful; different types of insects and followers surrounded the small path. I basked in the blissful silence and the warmth of the sun until I caught sight of a stunning blue butterfly.
"WOW look how pretty it is!"
{Obanai POV}
I watched as Tanjiro skipped towards a large blue butterfly, eyes shining as he softly placed his hand next to the insect, slowly crawling on his palm."Isn't it beautiful?" He smiled brightly showing me the butterfly proudly. By now he was practically radiating light, everything about him was perfect. I am also very grateful that my mask can hide my burning cheeks.
"Yes. it's nice Tanjiro, but don't get sidetracked we're on a mission" I replied bluntly, not wanting to embarrass myself by stuttering in front of him.
I heard him hum happily behind me as he skipped to catch up, now without the butterfly.
I glanced over my shoulder to watch Tanjiro, his hair practically glowed in the sun, only emphasised by his matching burgundy eyes.
It always admired his positive and happy outlook on even the most difficult situations, you could say envy him in a way.
"Hey Tanjiro?"
"Yep?"
"Are you um...you know..."
I trailed off not sure how to phrase the question, as Tanjiro tilted his head in a confused manner, making him look like an adorable lost puppy. I sighed, composing myself before starting again.
"Are you into...guys?" Stupid. Stupid fucking question Iguro. Why would I even-
"Oh haha! god you scared me then, I thought it would be something way worse!"
"..."
"Oh yeah! I don't really have a preference. I'll just love whoever I see fit! Gender isn't a component"
With that I internally cheered, knowing I have a chance with him; even if it was less than Giyuu or his friends.
"Ah ok, I was just curious"
"Of course! How about you?"
"I, um... like guys I guess"
"That's great! I'm happy you can tell me"
He turned to face me smiling brightly, honestly I think I may need to move into the shade if he dosent stop smiling. Bur his remark did put me at a strange ease, Tanjiro always had a way with words.
Suddenly I felt a small pair of arms wrap around my chest; obviously startling me a little. I looked down to realise Tanjiro was hugging me. He was fucking hugging me. Should I push him off? Crap, no then he'd hate me, shit.
I was frozen on the spot, not sure where to put my hands or what to do when suddenly my snake started hissing out of nowhere, alerting me instantly.
I bent down slowly, gently nudging the boy off me as I leaned to whisper in his ear "I think the demons here, we will continue this later" I decided to be a little confident and act somewhat flirtatious before getting into a fighting stance. Tanjiro did the same, silently sniffing the air to locate where the demon was coming from.
———————————
The battle went fairly quickly, it wasn't an experienced demon and had no form of blood demon art. Also Tanjiro ended up chopping off its head first, which I felt slightly jealous about. But needless to say his sun breathing was addicting to watch.
However it left me thinking why the master needed both me AND Tanjiro to investigate such an inexperienced demon. It could've been completed by just one person.
I shook of the strange thought as Tanjiro stretched his limbs and sheathed his sword again. We started to walk back to the butterfly mansion when the previous beautiful and sunny surroundings became pitch black; only a hint of light emerging from the moon.
I sighed and turned to Tanjiro who was still walking as if we weren't practically blind now "hey Tanjiro let's stay there and we will head back tomorrow morning" I pointed to a small building which was run by an old lady for travellers.
Tanjiro turned to me with a smile happily skipping towards the building "ok! That sounds great" I followed behind him; slightly smirking about having Tanjiro alone and all to myself. Finally no one would get in the way.

{third POV}
The two demon slayers had been greeted swiftly by a kind elderly lady who offered to wash their clothes; of course they gratefully accepted, changing into a light purple coloured robe.The serpent pillar sat in his mat, scanning Tanjiro's body as the robe slightly slipped of his shoulder; showing of his delicate pale skin which had been toned finely.
The heterochromatic eyed male stared in pure lust as Tanjiro scoffed the last of their meal, a singular piece of rice on his upper lip.
Taking his chance the older male leaned towards the confused Tanjiro, flicking away the crumb with the tip of his thumb. Tanjiro instantly reddened at the action as the pillar found satisfaction in seeing his flustered state.
"Obanai-san?"
